How To: Adjust the Turn-off Delay of the Morley Bad Horsie Wah The Morley Bad Horsie Wah-Wah Pedal allows you to adjust the delay rate of which the wah-effect shuts off when you release the pedal. This is/was an "undocumented" feature that must be adjusted by removing the backplate as seen below. Unlike some wah-wah pedals, the Bad Horsie is automatically turned on by simply pressing the pedal. There is no on-off pedal, which offers some advantages and disadvantages. When you release the pedal, the wah-wah is turned off. The delay rate is adjustable to fit your needs. Personally, I prefer an instant off wah pedal. | Step By Step: Adjust the Turn-off Delay of the Morley Bad Horsey Wah | | Picture | - see Figures 1, 2 & 3 below
| | Tools Needed | - Medium Phillips-head screwdriver - for side cover screws
- Small/fine Flat or Phillips-head screwdriver - for delay pot adjustment
| | Procedure | - Remove the rear cover by of the Morley Bad Horsey by unscrewing the FOUR cover screws. There are two on each side of the Bad Horsie (see figures 1 & 2 below).
- Turn the unit face down and remove the rear cover to view the circuit board.
- Find the delay pot (see arrow Figure 3.) and make the adjustment using the small/fine screwdriver:
- Clockwise to lenghten the delay when turned off (wah effects stays on longer)
- Counter clockwise to shorten the delay (almost instant "turn off")
- When finished install the cover and tighten the side cover screws
| | Reference | - Test the decay rate by plugging in the pedal & guitar. Make the change and test the delay when you release the wah (turn if off).
