FlatWound for Fretless!
| Comments |
The D'Addario XL Chromes "Jazz Light" Flatwound Guitar Strings sound smooth... I was a virgin to fretless guitar, albeit an awesome sound... Never gave it any thought until I got heavily into classical... Cello and Violin make sweet sounds. So I strung up a Baritone Fretless guitar with these wires, and it sounds uniquely outstanding...

The warmth and mellowness... The tone can be very Eastern sounding. Another thing I like is how they don't tear up Your fingers like roundwounds do. Lastly, I like how different they sound from all other strings I've ever played -- duh, they're flatwounds -- but seriously, I wanted something different and I achieved it.

The price! These are twice the price of Ernie Ball Beefy Slinkys. Just have to wait and see how long these last in comparison. Perhaps they will pay for themselves...
