i have used ghs boomers cl for 10+ years now...always liked the tone of regular boomers but felt something was missing...the introduction of the cl series with the heavier low end fixed the problem nicely...have guitars tuned in standard a-440 and a half step down and the custom lights sound beautiful in both tunings...nice punchy aggressive tone that is well suited for hard rock and metal yet when used with a clean tone produce some nice mid-range to help you cut through a mix...when combined with a basswood body results in some wonderful soaring high notes that are bright and singing without being harsh

1. the heavier gauge allows a better bass response from the strings
2. the light top allows for effortless string bending as well as facilitating speedy playing
3. nice aggressive tone
