Best Strings I've used.
| Comments |
I first tried the DR Black Beauties (10 gauge) when the shop I teach order some for the first time. I've played pretty much all the different type of Ernie Ball Slinkys and bunches of different D'Addrio as well as Dean Markley Blue Steels and tons of other random strings not worth the mention.
There is something about the feel of the Black Beauties. They are smooth and silky feeling. But they have this "dryness" is the best word I can use to describe it that makes them just stick to your fingers which just make bending so easy.
They last forever. I normally break strings like nobodies business but I had a set of Black Beauties (9 guage) on a guitar that gets played around 6 hours everyday and they were still in...passable (if not good) condition a year later.

1. The feel. Smooth, dry and bendable. Amazing.
2. Colour. Seriously, that's awesome.
3. Life span. They seem to last forever.

1. The colour does start to flake off. Doesn't effect the string in any way other than you have spots without any colour on them. That could very well be a deal breaker for a lot of you. It will certainly happen where you pick and I've had it happen on notes I play a lot. But As I said in the comment I play a lot.
