I started using these ten years ago, and never looked back.

These strings are all I use anymore, on electric AND acoustic.

Okay, years ago, when the guy who sold me my first set of these, when he mentioned "Compression wound", I automatically thought "Snake oil"! Just another marketing ploy. After using them a while, though, I noticed a few things. They hold their tone longer than other strings I've used, They last longer, and, Somehow, they're simply a more COMFORTABLE string. Maybe it's all in my head, but I love the way these strings feel. A set of 10's feels more like a set of 9's. They're easier for me to play on. I sweat a lot, favor heavy picks and light strings, which is a recipe for disaster. But these guys hold up to my abuse better than any other string I've used.

I do prefer the round core to the hex core. The round core's feel more comfortable to me.

DR Strings are the BEST!
| Comments |
I have been a DR user for 15 years now, and I have been endorsing them since 1996. I have visited the factory in Emerson NJ, and they are my longest endorsement, have stuck by me since 96, and are great people. The DR company is owned by the family who used to own Guild Guitars. They are a community based company who hire local workers, still do things by hand, and take good care of their workers. And they make GREAT strings.

I have been a user of the Tite Fits, Pure Blues, and Zebra strings for many years. They are simply great strings, and the DO have more mass to them, and a better tone.

nothing to dislike about DR......they are more well known for their bass strings, but their guitar strings are just as good!

Never going back!

I was introduced to these badboys by my local luthier a few years ago. I was in the market for something different than the Ernie Ball slinkys I usually used. These cost considerably more than EB's, but I figured what the heck. My first time playing these had me befuddled. They felt like no other string I've ever tried! They seemed "rounder" and smoother than the EB's. After a few hours of adjustment period with the strings, I was hooked! Since then I've never used anything different for my electric guitars.
