Dunlop consistancy remains
| Comments |
These strings are actually new to the market, which is somewhat strange because Dunlop is a staple in the guitar accessory world known for it's reliability and consistant quality. I saw these featured in an ad in a favorite guitar magazine, so when I saw them on the shelf at my local music store I quickly grabbed a pack.

A big plus for me was that Dunlop offered these strings in my specific gauge, 11-50. I currently have these strings on my LTD Viper 301 and have the guitar tuned to DADGBE. These strings have been on this guitar for approx. 2 months and are approaching the end of their use.
With this guitar I play sludge/doom/Nu/tech/death/core types of modern metal. I like a tight and clear sounding high gain, and like to keep the tuning no lower than D for clarity reasons. These strings hold tune well, and stay "fresh" sounding about the same as most other strings I've used. They are less bright than I'm typically used to, but I don't hold that against them. I rarely ever break strings, so that is usually a non-issue for me. These appear to be strong and don't expect a problem in that dept.

I guess I would like to have the strings stay new and fresh sounding longer, but they do not sound bad once broken in. Overall, I am very pleased with these strings and would buy them again. I am considering buying a 10-46 gauge set for my Fender Stratocaster after only one experience with them.
