Average strings w/big name endorsement
| Comments |
You would think that a product endorsed by arguably one of the most influentual guitar players would be the hottest thing since the electric guitar itself...man, how things have changed. There isn't really anything special with these strings, in fact they are comparable in tone, feel & durability to any mid-priced set of strings found at just about every music shop. Don't get sucked in by the red, white & black trademarked stripes and the "This is what I use!" statement by EVH himself as these aren't even premium strings.

Hmmm...well I got them for only 4.00 a set which makes them a good value at that price if for anything that they just might be worth something in another 10-15 years just because of the packaging. They have a decent feel with just the right amount of brightness.

The retail price just doesn't equal the right value for these strings. I keep saying that they are just average...but the packaging kinda leads people to think that they are premium simply because of a simple endorsement statement on the back along with a picture of "the man" smiling. There is NOTHING special about them. No anti-rust coating, not cryo treated, not made with any "premium" materials or metals...nothing. I don't agree with the price gouging/endorsee fee on fellow musicians for an average product.

There hasn't been much improvement to these from the old ones that were released back in the 90's.
