Best sounding strings I know!

Comments I'll use almost any string brand, but I definitely prefer GHS to any other string on a fixed bridge.

Liked about it Bright, clear tone. They stay clean for a long time and they have a very long life span. Takes at least a month for the high strings to go black and rusty.

Didn't like It can be hard to find the sets I prefer (custom light 9-46). Nothing else to complain about really.

GHS Boomers - Great tone, great lifespan, great pr

Comments I have been using various gauges of GHS Boomers since I started playing electric guitar (17 years now).

I moved to the 9-42 gauge on my standard tuned electrics a few years ago. I was using 10-52 Boomers, but they were too heavy for me as I have developed Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Whilst I noticed that the 9-42s were a little less full in tone compared to the 10-52s, they still had a great tone. Boomers are great for string bending, and once they are fully stretched they hold tune very well under extreme Floyd Rose use.

Liked about it Great tone
Great for use with floating bridges such as Floyd Roses.
Well priced.

Didn't like Nothing wrong at all for the price.

Best Overall Sound!

Comments I've tried other string manufacturers and I keep coming back to GHS. To me they sound the best, have the best overall sound. Others that I've tried also sound good, but seemed flat sounding in areas. GHS doesn't sound that way to me. The Boomers have been around since I started playing back in the late 80's, and it doesn't matter what music style you play. These Boomers will sound at home with any style. They're obviously doing something right because the exact same string can be bought today.

Liked about it Great overall sound and can be played with any music style.

Didn't like Some people might not like the way GHS packages the 3-packs. They group all strings that are the same into one paper envelope, so there's 6 envelopes total in the package. That usually requires you to pull them all out, grab the one you want, wrap up the other two and put them back in the envelope. However if you buy just one set of strings, you have one string per envelope. GHS is obviously trying to save use guitarists a little money in their packaging costs. It's a small convenience that might make the difference for some people.
