Brightest Non-Stainless Steel Strings Available
| Comments |
GHS produces an absolute ton of strings for every player, every style, every gauge. The thing is I'm weird and I like my strings to not only sound like brighter and more sparkling than the Northern Star but I want a wound G string. Luckily GHS provides me with exactly that with the Progressives PRM package of strings.
GHS claims that it uses some fancy alloy in their Progressives strings that makes them more magnetic or some such wackiness. All I know is that the strings look, feel, cost, and act like regular strings but are brighter than anything out there, unless you buy stainless steel.
Now, I DO use stainless steel strings but if someone were concerned about their frets being more quickly worn using stainless steel strings than they would be using regular strings than GHS Progressives are the answer to your demands.
The bad thing about Progressives, as with all non-standard items, is that they can be hard to find unless you order them online. But considering the price savings of online buying why not do it that way any way? I guess I could also complain that these strings don't come in as many gauges as a normal range of regular GHS strings but they are 'special' after all so one can't assume total coverage.
