Incredible playability
Sound
The ESP Ltd H-1007 is surprisingly versatile for a 2 humbucker guitar without a coil split. The EMG active pick ups are harmonizing wonderfully between a full warm neck and a brighter, more aggressive bridge pick up.
The woods used is mahogany, with a maple top on the body (too thin to make a significant difference in sound) and rosewood fretboard.
Played clean through the EMG 707 neck pick up the warm tones are very PAF like. For solos this is the guitars sweet spot and it also gives you an amazing amount of sustain. In the middle position the EMG 81-7 bridge pick up also gets activated and together they sound interesting. I prefer it when I want to take some of the edge off of my bridge pick up or more beef to the neck tones.
Alone, the bridge pick up is capable of many genres but it clearly shines with added gain. Worth noting is that there's no sign of muddiness when playing the deepest tones.

Action, Fit, & Finish
This guitar came from European music giant Thomann in Germany. The guitar was set up very well and it had no flaws at all. The bridge and intonation was more that good enough out of the box. Also the action was satisfying.
The finish was flawless and it was impossible to see that the guitar had previously been touched by other people.
The neck is wider, naturally, but also thin. The accessibility to the higher frets is effortless both sitting and standing.
Last worth mentioning is the 4+3 headstock that really suits the guitar and the lovely mother of pearl details on the guitar. Just small details that lifts the guitar up to feeling a bit more exclusive.
This guitar comes in both string trough and Floyd Rose versions.

Reliability & Durability
My H-1007 has seen one gig and it's a pleasure to play. It is noticeable heavier than a six string so it takes some getting used to. The balance of the body and neck is very good, as with the tuning stability of the Floyd Rose 1000 series tremolo. The only small complaint here is the tremolo arm that has to be tightened hard in order not to squeal and rattle. This means that it's either tight and locked in one positioned, or floppy and noisy.
As the scale is 25.5" I would recommend using .10 to minimum .56 strings for better tuning stability. Thinner B-strings than .56 seems to sound too sharp.

It's unfair to point at just three things that makes this guitar great but worth mentioning is
- Craftsmanship
- Materials
- Design
|
Didn't like
- Rattling tremolo arm
- Did not come with a case (sold separately) or bag
