One of the best Epiphone Les Paul guitars I've ever played!!!

I own a few Epiphone Les Paul guitars and there's a few things I consistently notice: The stock pickups are always fairly hot, the necks are always comfortable, and with a good setup they all play and sound great. This guitar (I have the blue sparkle finish and believe me, the picture doesn't do it justice) was no exception and has a neck that is thicker than most of the Epi LP standards I have--think more like a Gibson LP with the "50's Style Neck." Perfect balance of bite on the bridge pickup and fluidity on the neck pickup. I put Dimarzio .008's on it and there's a perfect balance of warmth, bite, and string tension for great bends. I play mostly rock and use this guitar mostly for recording as I've installed Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P-90 humbucker sized drop-ins. Now this guitar gets a perfect 70's rock sound and is hum-cancelling in the middle position as the pickups are RW for just this purpose. Great bluesy tone in the middle position as well.

| Action, Fit, & Finish |
The guitar was set up nicely from the factory but I like my action lower than normal and play my thin strings, so I took off the .010's, dropped the bridge slightly, and put on .008's. That's it--no truss rod adjustment. The finish on this guitar is UNBELIEVABLE!! The picture does not even clearly represent it--think more along the lines of 70's T-Rex glam and you're probably halfway there. Also, the online vendor included an incredible authentic Epiphone hardshell case with the purchase price. I then saw they had reduced the price on the guitar, so I called them back and they refunded me the difference.

Great thick neck more like a Gibson than other Epiphone Les Paul guitars I have.

Factory strap buttons are a little small--I wouldn't trust them. Replace them with Strap Locks.
