Guitar got H-S-H with Dimarzio Paf pro and Dimarzio Jem in the middle. The sound is in range from quite warm and full (neck position) to a little more bright and noisy. Mostly used with a Pod x3 live. Guitar will work for rock,heavy metal,fusion or any fast playing. Got D'addarios 9 on now.

| Reliability & Durability |
This guitar plays very nice. Stays in tune so well, even for heavy whammy use. Can't really say anything bad about this guitar as far as reliability and durability goes. What could you say about a 20yr old axe that works nicely.

Lovely thin fast neck.
Action is very low and it just begs you to play fast on it.
Lo-pro egde tremolo stays in tune.

The whole feel of this jem is what i like, it just plays so well and easy.
Neck is somewhat wide, so for rythm playing for a long time your hands might get a little tired, but that might just be my hands, i guess Mr. Vai dosen't have that problem, so if you got bigger hands this won't be a problem.
