Flawless craftmanship in a beauty
Sound
Let me start by saying I have always been a humbucker guy. I picked this up to try something new. THe tone was not thin as I was expecting out of a non humbucker guitar. The guitar sounded warm and sweet. I have mulitple amps, so I used this "McSoapy" through a Carvin Legacy combo, which is a very warm almost dark sounding amp, and through a Marsh DSL 100, which is a very mid toned amp. I use a Monte Allums SD-1 for overdrive to get a little over the top gain. While the pickups were just barely noisier that my usual humbuckers, it did not bother me at all when I was cranked on gain. The warm tones when playing mellow soft tones were to die for, PRS really knows how to put together pickup and match them to great sounding wood. I ran a Rocktron Intellifex through the effects loops on both amps while using the PRS with just a touch of reverb and delay. I wouldn't really use a Soapbar equipped for metal but for classic and straight ahead rock this guitar was really great sounding.

Action, Fit, & Finish
This McCarty Soapbar had the wide fat neck which was a real nice feel. The craftsmanship I would say was flawless on this guitar. It had good looking bird inlays teh frets end were rounded, action was not super low, but low so that it felt like I didn't have to exert to fret the strings. I uploaded a picture of this actual guitar which is one of my favorite finish, natural. This finish was not what PRS calls a 10top but I thought it was flawless, nice striping in the wood, just a beauty to look at. You can really appreciate the finish on this at about 6-10 feet away. It amazes me how well intonated it is without having a ton of adjustments available on the bridge, intonation was great. The pickups were well adjusted and strings sounded even sonically

Reliability & Durability
This guitar is one of the most well made I've played, I would gig this without a backup, but I never gig without a spare guitar. The stock case was unbelievable, one of the thickest most well fitted cases outside of an ATA roadcase. Mae it heavy to carry but definitely worth it.
