I really can't tell the difference between this an featured

Sound I bought this guitar years ago when it went on a crazy sale for $499.00. This guitar is brilliant. My friend bought one as well so we compared. The fit and finish on both guitars was exquisite and the quality of the wood was high-quality and surprisingly consistent. Both sets of pickups produce period-correct tones; the 12-string neck produces awesome cleans and complex tones on a high-gain channel. The 6-string neck is just like playing a really heavy SG. Do yourself a favor and invest in a quality cushioned strap and you'll have loads of fun with this guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish The guitar was set up well out of the box and only needed to be tuned. The six-string neck action was set up a little high for my tastes so I lowered it, but the intonation was spot-on. I bought it on-line, so I can only imagine it came from the factory like that.

Reliability & Durability I've actually played one live show with this guitar covering "Wanted Dead or Alive" -- this is the perfect guitar for the song and it was surprisingly easy to switch necks and pickups. It stayed in tune despite my "animated" playing and was ready for more.

Customer Support I've not had to deal with Epiphone support--never had the need with any of their products.

Liked about it I love the price-to-value ratio on this guitar, even at the current price, the great SG tone that comes out of it, and the quality of the guitar wood and top. I'd be surprised if you hid the headstocks anyone could tell the difference between the Gibson plugged into a Marshall DSL401.

Didn't like It's no fault of Epiphone, but this guitar is heavy. As noted above, do yourself a favor and invest in a good padded strap. With my $100 strap, I could easily play 6-8 songs on this guitar. The pickups are good stock Epiphone pickups, but aren't the best sounding in the world. If I ever started gigging regularly again I'd swap out the stock pickups with Dimarzio PAF 36th anniversary models.

Worth every penny/cent

Sound I purchased one of these for probably the same reason as most people who have or will be buying one. My band played a lot of Zeppelin numbers. The sound is superb when put through a decent amp and cranked up with a touch of overdrive. you get that real Jimmy page sound. I cant say what it would sound like with tons of distotion though as i never tried it.

Action, Fit, & Finish The action on the Both the 6 and 12 string necks was ok, but alittle on the high side for my type of playing. But with a small amount of adjustment both necks were playing faultlessly. The over all build quality of this guitar is outstanding, the finish was mint, the hardwhare was superb. The only thing to watch is your back, This guitar is darn heavy. But it is in effect 2 guitars stuck together.

Reliability & Durability I had the back off the guitar and the pots wire and soldering was very neat. switches felt to be good quality, None of the crome has tarnished on mine. The only thing that has ever broken on mine is the high octave G string on the 12 string neck!!

Customer Support Never dealt with them.

Liked about it The amount of guitar you got for your money.

Didn't like If i really wanted to cribb the guitar i would change the pick ups in the 6 string neck for slightly better ones, As the stock ones could be better, I would probably put Dimazio PAF PRO'S in.
