Sharp looks and tone to match! featured

Sound The specially designed Paul Allender pickups excel at every style you can throw at them; from jazz to metal. They are dynamic and rich with extended bass and a hearty midrange (slightly scooped for when you want to blast high gain) and a very musical treble presence. The guitar's sustain is excellent whether is be on a rhythm clean or a scorching solo. I tested the guitar on a Mesa/Boogie Mark III, Peavey 5150, Crate V18 combo, and Peavey Vypyr Tube 60 Combo, and this guitar never failed to impress me on tone. I was particularly the most pleased mating it with my Mesa - it actually made it sound MORE like a Mesa! The pickups are also very responsive to volume and tone knob changes; allowing you to dial in your perfect tones on the fly or in the studio. The guitar also handles effects incredibly well! Both vintage and modern effects sounded excellent and full of life, and most importantly the guitar, amp, and effects all sounded expressive. For being a lower model PRS, this guitar delivers the goods and is worth the cash!

Action, Fit, & Finish The action on this axe is pretty much made for shredders. The wide-thin neck profile fits incredibly comfortably in my hands, and the high scoop on the heel makes for supreme access to all 24 frets. The fret dressing is top notch, no snags or hitches to slow you down on high speed shredding, or poor polishing to cut your hands when sweeping like mad. The neck is just a delight to play and the low string height makes for effortless riffing all day! The quilted maple top is gorgeous to look at and constantly the talk at shows, but one downside is that it's requires a little bit of upkeep to keep clean and scratch free. The bat inlays are also incredibly cool, and only available on this model. I can't begin to tell you the compliments I've received on this guitar. From the factory, this guitar's setup was about 95% perfect. I lowered the strings only slightly to match my more shredder-ish style and accomodate 9.5 gauge strings (came with 9's), and the pickups were set to their appropriate height (I have not had to adjust them, even after more than a year of ownership).

Reliability & Durability This is a workhorse PRS, not a case queen. After more than a year of owning this guitar, it is still as fun to play as the day I got it, and the killer tones never stop pleasing my ears. The downsides are that I've had to adjust the neck twice from humidity changes, the volume pot has become scratchy from dust, and the beautiful quilted top has collected more than a few pick scratches and a concentric ring around the volume knob from constant use. This guitar never lets me down live or in the studio, and I would buy another one in a heartbeat! Totally worth the money, but its not meant to be kept in a case...

Customer Support Mine didn't come with a tremolo arm, and my PRS dealer wouldn't order me one...I think that speaks volumes about g****rc****r.

Liked about it 1) Tone.
2) Playability.
3) Striking good looks.

Didn't like 1) Could have used a better lacquer (to prevent those scratches).
2) Did not come with hard case.
3) Slightly poor dealer support.
