Great beginner guitar at an Affordable Price featured

Sound I play metal, from Death metal to Grindcore, although I am able to achieve the sounds I want but its not the tone I like. The sustain doesnt last long, and its kind of dull and flat. Keep in mind these are stock pickups but I have played worse! Dont get me wrong, these pickups do need to be replaced but they're good enough for ANY beginner guitarist!
One thing that was really irritating about these pickups was I couldnt achieve that High piercing pinch harmonic! its sounds dull and muffled and doesnt last longer then a second! Even after playing it out of my B-52 AT-100 half stack with my MXR 10 band EQ and Twin Tube Mayhem pedal...I still wasnt able to improve the sound, well at least not that much. The volume knob does a good job of cleaning up distortion, the tone knob sucks! It either makes is sound dull and flat or sharp and cutting! its not really a big deal and doesnt bother me but it hinders the guitars ability to be versatile!!

Action, Fit, & Finish Despite being the lowest model in its line, the set up was very well done! The Action is very low which is great!(the lower the easier to play and glide along the fingerboad) The neck is very sturdy for being a bolt on! I have the Walnut finish and it looks really sexy! The Omen-6 has a 25.5" Bolt-on Neck which is maple with a rosewood fingerboard that has 24 Jumbo frets with Dot inlays! The body is Basswood with 1 volume knob, 1 tone knob and a 3-way switch! The bridge is TOM with a string thru-body with stock Schecter Diamond Plus pickups and Stock Schecter Tuners.

Reliability & Durability Although this Model is the lowest in its Line, its built to rock on any occasion, Its one sturdy SOB!! First off the neck is great! Not too fat and not too skinny, Its just right. I like the neck on this model then I do on my Charvel model 6!! "just the neck" The omen-6 is the only guitar I let my friends use when they come over and start fooling around with my gear! And not 1 scratch has been done by them...only by me! :P It is a basswood body which means its very light! easy to stand with and play! but also its very easily to ding, scratch, scuff and Chip!!
This is a great guitar for beginners but I wouldnt bring this guitar to my gig and play live just due to the fact I have guitars that cost 4x as much with better build, sound and quality! ;) I wouldnt invest anything into this guitar because I wouldnt want to put more money into it then what I got it for(even tho it was a gift) Also, I havent noticed any fading except for the screws!! first things to fade are the screws and I have black hardware.

Customer Support I owned a couple of Schecters and Never dealt with anyone from the company because I never needed to...which is a plus, meaning I never had any problems with a Schecter! Solid products :)

Liked about it This guitar has a great neck, pretty fast..but it is not the best! Great hardware and setup, very sturdy all around great bang for your buck! If your a starting guitarist with $300 and want a great rock/metal guitar, i'd recommend this guitar in a heart beat! Everyone needs to start somewhere and this is a great starting point!

Didn't like You get "What you pay for" The stock pickups have to go, Im not a fan of bolt-on necks and The pot cavity is very messy with wires everywhere!!! Intermediate guitar players...this is one to AVOID! unless you like doing modifications, then this guitar will suit your needs! It has the potential to put out great sounds and tones but why invest more then what it cost?
