This Pick Made Me a Better Player!
| Comments |
Ive been playing guitar since i was 7 years old, i am now 19. Throughout all these many years, I've gotten by with using the normal picks, such as dunlop, fender, etc...
I tried for years to develop a talent of speed picking, to no avail.
i then discovered these Dava Delrin picks, they have changed my playing immensely. I play with so much more speed and accuracy then i ever did before, i live by these pics now.

I love the special rubber grip that is on this pick, it makes me confident when i play, knowing i wont drop it.
The size of the pick is the most important part of this pick...it enabled me to play so much faster and more accurately than i ever thought i could.
The tip of the pick is made of a plastic-like material called "Delrin", and this Delrin material makes your attack soft but aggressive. I love this pick.

The only issue i have with the pick is that the Delrin model only comes in red. Id like to see it in more colors like green or black.

Comfortable, but sounds bloody awful

I normally use a strange kind of pick, the brand name of which I'm unsure of. They're black, a little over 2mm in thickness, quite large, and have three rectangles and "USA" on one side in gold ink. I love the way those picks don't bend whatsoever, and I love the soft, vocal tone they produce due to their extremely rounded tips. What I don't like is that they slip out of your fingers like sea otters, no matter how much texture I try to add to them with nails and knives and what have you. So I was in a guitar shop, saw these, liked the grip, and gave them a try. It didn't end well.

I do like the grip. These picks really don't slip around in your fingers at all.
I also like that they don't really bend much. So they're on their way to being great picks, except...

...the tips are terrible. They're sharp and angular and rough and they grab the strings and make everything sound quacky and just plain bad, no matter how softly you pick. (I don't like the way "normal" picks sound either; as I said, my picks are really rounded and thick. But this is worse than normal picks. It's not just percussive. It's *quacky*.) I bought two, so I tried manually sanding down one of them's tips into something more usable. It didn't work. So now I'm back to the black picks, and my technique involves adjusting the pick's position in my fingers every few seconds. Not good. Maybe I should try supergluing sandpaper to them.
