I own two of these cases. I purchased them for guitars for which I didn't have cases--my JEM 7VSBL and my S540. This case is a great-looking case and is well-built. Provides good protection and a snug fit for a wide variety of guitars--I've put just about every guitar I have (Les Pauls excluded) into this case and they all fit to the point I feel they would be well-protected. I haven't seen anything that says it's DOT approved but I think it provides better protection than standard cases.
