Digital modelers to me are good for studying, composing and gigs but never to record your band.
Well this monster took my breath away!
First let me talk about its looking.
Its control pannel is really clear with gray background, white letters and silver knobs.
No edit screen nightmare, just preset name and number.Only 10 knobs control it.
It comes with 400 amazing artists and songs presets.Believe me they're really amazing.
They cover any area you need, you just have to choose a preset, tweak it to your needs and save it.
With just the basic effects it keeps your tone really clean.
Loud,it comes with a celestion speaker but you can disconnect it and use a 4X12 cab for gigs.
Phone output has pod speaker simulation so you can plug it right into your computer.
It has 12 amp types and you can use 3 effects at time, you really don't need more than that.
It's not heavy so it's easy to carry around. You can plug an mp3 player to play along.
I thought it would be just an amplified pod but not at all,its presets are really better than all pods and having a speaker it sounds really alive cause you have that headroom of a speaker blowing a mic.
For the first time a line 6 product gave me thrills in a good way.
For less than 300 usd it's unbeatible.

Great modelling practice amp for the money.
| Sound |
This combo amp sports 6 different amp model settings which each come in 2 flavors, providing a total of 12 different sounds. From crystal clear to ultra distorted, there is something for everyone and every situation. Despite it being a digital modeling amp, the added celestion speaker in the combo gives it a very full and credible sound. Every setting has gain, 3-band EQ as well as delay/modulation/reverb settings to dial in. The effects are not very flexible, but sound impressive for this price. Sounds can be saved as presets and quickly dialed, plus the amp comes with 400something pre-made settings...which I never touched, however. Very versatile box – and loud at 75W!
I am especially enthralled by the clean settings, which reveal the guitar's own sound, as well as the first Insane setting, one of the best modeling amp distortion sounds out there. Be careful however when trying other Line 6 Spiders, the Spider III below 75W sounds bland, and the new Spider IV is very synthetic compared to the Spider III 75W and 120W. The 75W/120W Spider III amps are usually standing around in guitar stores these days and make for great test amps to try new guitars.

I use the amp as a practice amp at home since 1 year+, and never ever had a single problem with it. It has reinforced corners and a good handle, allowing easy transport. It makes a very sturdy impression and would certainly suit gigging at a small venue. No overheating or wiggly tubes as it's solid-state, anyways.

Not dealt with Line 6.

Top 3 features:
1) Impressive range of sounds that are at home in all music styles, especially the clean and the responsive heavy distortions that do not sound "canned" at all due to the speaker setup.
2) Very intuitive to dial in sounds and change settings, thus also recommended at beginner’s level.
3) The amp has a headphone out with speaker simulator, as well as an input for a CD/MP3 player, which makes it even more useful as a practice amp.
Have I mentioned the great value for money ratio?

I don't like or find sub-optimal
- There is no footswitch included, and the amp is only compatible with Line 6 switches.
- No effects loop, which gives the amp limited expansion potential, unfortunately.
- The chorus/flanger setting is a bit monotonous.
