equipment used with this module, rm100, mesa cab/v30's, korina custom jem, dimarzio pickups, boutique overdrive boost.
the xtc is a fair module stock. like many of the mts modules, their at there best when they have been custom modified to what your ears are not getting out of them. the xtc is a high gain module based on the bogner xtc. this module is not as close as one would think to what the name implies. its got a thick low bottom end and completely eats up a overdrive boost responding exceptionally to it as well to help deliver the needed not seperation. this is one of the few module that has a completely unique identity. but without the help of an overdrive, many will probably be disapointed with the stock version.

Close to a Bogner
| Sound |
This module comes as close to a bogner as you're going to get. It is however, the unwanted lovechild or the Randall MTS community. People don't seem to like the module for whatever reason. That's them. I on the other hand have never had a problem. It had a spongy tone with a little bit of sizzle on the top making it sound quite good. It also comes close to emulating the sound I get on channel 2, the blue channel, of my EVH 5150 III.
It has nice attack and singing sustain as well. As of this review, I played the real deal Bogner Ecstasy just a few days ago. The module isn't an exact replica, but it comes very close.

My MTS preamps have always been reliable. I've never had a problem with them or had to replace their preamp tubes.

I'ne never dealt with Randall personally, but they have an active forum on their website and Randall staff are on the forums should you need any help.

I could dial in bogner tones for $200 instead of $3000 + which is what a real Bogner would set me back. As with all mts modules versus solid state modeling technology, there is warmth and clarity in all the modules you can't find in the digital SS world. It's also not just one sound coming from the module as there is an eq section built in, so i can mix and remix sound features.

| Didn't like |
I didn't end up keeping the module as most of the tones were available to be like I previously mentioned using my EVH amp (my main rig).
It doesn't completely nail the exact bogner sound. It sounds better on EL34 tubes, and I typically run 6l6's.
