DOD FX80B Compressor/Sustainer

The FX80B produces longer tones by automatically increasing the gain as the tone decays. It can reduce dynamic range, or limit volume peaks. Get a more even, larger professional sound with the FX80B Compressor/sustainer.

DOD's Dying Days

Ease Of Use I came across this beauty in a second hand shop, just sat there. Picked it up for a tiny £15 ($23) and instantly set it on my board. It has three knobs which are nicely labeled (Unlike a lot of DOD pedals) and the three dials were easy to mess with

Sound It compresses very well and it does add a certain amount of sustain. I also enjoy the pad you stand on to engage the pedal. And when on bypass, its quite transparent.

Reliability Being built in the USA, and having a very simple inside I think this pedal will work for a very long time. It has a rugged metal case and with its bright orange colour, its going to be hard to loose =P

Customer Support The company doesn't really exist any more, its been absorbed into Digitech, and sadly its not what it used to be. I've tried the more modern ones and they're nowhere near as good as the old ones.

Liked about it Rugged
great sounding
has a long battery life
Cheap
Made in the USA
The Colour!

Didn't like You need to get an add-on to use it with a power supply since it has no socket to plug it in.

I love this pedal, id take it over a boss compressor sustainer any day. Its just a shame nothing this good comes out of DOD nowadays.

Yours bright orange,
Big The Cat

Nice pedal that you can find for dirt cheap.

Ease Of Use This is very simple to use, it only has 3 knobs. I Learned how to use it without a manual since I got mine for free from my brother's friend.

Sound I think mine has a problem with it since these pedals are really old, so mine is a bit noisy.

Reliability I'd depend on it its built really well. It has stayed together all these years. Mine has a few fixable problems since its really old.

Liked about it easy to use
can cut off and mute my signal
can also make my signal even louder

Didn't like Old, so may break
