Fantastic Pedal Tuner, super value for the price. featured

Ease Of Use The Pitchblack is one of the best pedal tuners you can buy, in my opinion. The unit is very simple to use, all you need to do is choose a display mode that you like. You can alter the calibration if you need to, but most players won't need this. As it is chromatic, flat or alternate tunings are easy, since the note names are displayed on the awesome display.

The display modes are debatable, everyone will find one they like to use. Personally, I like standard meter mode, and the mirror mode. However, the beauty of the unit is the bright and clear display. On stage, or in your bedroom, it's easy to see from a distance, and looks pretty cool too.

Put it this way, I used to have two other pedal tuners, a Boss TU-2 which has been replaced by the Pitchblack on my small pedalboard, and the Peterson Strobostomp on my workbench, which has been replaced by the Pitchblack+ ( Plus ). The Pitchblack does everything the TU-2 did, only more transparently, and better. I loved it so much I ditched my Strobostomp and went with the Plus for the more accurate tuning modes for setups, and gigs where I might have use for its other features, which I won't go into. Either way the Pitchblack family are great tuners.

The Pitchblack can be had for less than a hundred dollars, and is worth every penny, and then some. I've even given a couple as gifts to friends who were still using a Boss or other tuner.

Sound Very transparent, I don't notice it when its plugged in at all. I run it right from the guitar into my other pedals, then to my amp.

Reliability It is surprisingly solid, when I first saw one I expected it to be plastic and cheap feeling, but it is metal and feels quite solid. Mine has never broken, and I would not hesitate to gig it without any backup.

Customer Support Have not needed support.

Liked about it I love the display, and the multiple display modes that are available. The styling is top notch, it is a small pedal, unobtrusive and simple. It is very well built, and does not alter my tone.

Didn't like I really have nothing negative to say about the Pitchblack, the only thing I'd prefer is if it had been free.

My favorite tuner!

Ease Of Use I bought this tuner about half a year ago to replace a Boss tuner, and I had not thought I would be that satisfied for something as trivial as a tuner!
It's design is quite cool. Black with a stomp box foot switch to turn it on and off. Big bright LED lights up to show you tone and the tuning meter. The red lights light up on the left or right side depending if you're too high or too low. As you tune the diode comes closer to center and turnes green as you are in tune. Very accurate and very easy.
I have my PitchBlack first in my chain and when activated it cuts the sound. Very handy as you can tune between songs without the audience hearing you. When turned off it is in true bypass mode.
What i also love about this tuner is that it's very solid and so small that it easily justify it's place on your pedal board. Making sure you're in tune also for song #8 is always more important that seven seconds of flanger in one solo...

Sound No noise at all. It cuts the sound when activated and has true bypass when deactivated.

Reliability It is very reliable, and sexy enough to have the other guitarist and bass player in my band desiring it. It is precise, easy to read and can take a beating.

Customer Support Not dealt with.

Liked about it - Small.
- Precise.
- Easy to read when on stage.

Didn't like I liked everything about it, really!
