A lot of switching and then some...
Ease Of Use
Not meant for beginners - really need to read the manual to fully understad how versatile this unit is. After some minor MIDI programming [through a Ground Control v2.4], the GCX definitely makes switching between two pre-amps units much easier.

Transparent. The buffer does its job. Very quiet unit despite my rack is wired all with PW Solderless cables along with an ISP Decimator in the chain.

Reliability
Road-worthy unit.

Called Voodoo Lab to upgrade my GC board to 2.5 but they informed me there wasn't that much of a difference. They were helpful regarding the cost and what needs to be done for the upgrade but also suggested getting a GC Pro instead. Otherwise, the loop/switcher itself is still flawless.

2 outputs from the main input, one to feed everything else in the chain and another to feed whatever... a tuner, another amp, maybe a direct-box. No pops when switching between units/patches. Can be configured in many ways: using 4 of the loops as signal paths and one triggers the Half Drive mode of a Mesa 2:90.

The rear of the unit is intimidating as the jacks are close to each other. Cramming multiple "thick" cables could be a problem further down the line.

Valuable piece of gear!!!
Ease Of Use
It is a pretty straight forward piece of gear. Plug different effects into your Loops and let the GCX control them (with a MIDI pedal). Instructions Manual is very simple and the few times i have emailed Voodoo Labs, they have been EXTREMELY HELPFUL! Unit as not been upgraded.

I'm using Jackson USA models (soloists, rhoads) with a Mesa Boogie triple rectifier. This thing is priceless, the fact that I can turn on various effects pedals, switch patches on my G-Force, and change channels on my Mesa all with pressing one button (eliminating tap dancing!) makes this thing worthwhile for anyone.

Reliability
I can depend on it, it has never been broken. I would gig without a backup, as it is housed in a rack and is built rock solid anyways.

EXTREMELY HELPFUL. A tech even called me (in Canada!) from California to make sure that all of my questions were answered and if I needed any other help with anything.

Simple piece of gear
Easy to use
Versatility (turn effects on and off, change patches in multi FX processors, and change amp channels on amps that don's use MIDI)

Wish there was a separate TUNER out that muted everything. But it can be wired if need be.
