Playing an Ibanez Edge type tremolo - this is the one to get featured

Comments I have previously reviewed the Tremolo Pin type model (see here: http://www.jemsite.com/compare-guitar-pickups-parts/All-Parts-Tremol-No-Pin-type-w-Deep-C/reviews/). Most of the Pin-type review applies to the Clamp-type (small) model.

As I had mentioned in my previous Tremol-no review, I was somewhat concerned about the long-term durability of the pin. It seemed quite fragile compared to the rest of the Tremol-no. I had two pin-types on two different guitars. One with a Gotoh Floyd rose, and one with an Ibanez original Edge.

The pin has held up just fine on the guitar with the Gotoh tremolo, it seems to sit just right in the sustain block hole, and I have had no issues what so ever.

On the Edge equipped guitar things were a little more dire. The pin and is surrounds don't seem to sit quite as nicely on the sustain block, and on my last string change the pin finally broke.

I contact Kevan, the creator of the Tremol-no and he was more than happy to swap me the back half of the Tremol-no for a small clamp type, which would be more suitable for an Ibanez Edge type tremolo. I sent off my pin type back half, and a few weeks later I had the new small clamp unit ready to install.

Installing the clamp type part was a breeze. I just had to loosen the clamp with a small allen key to the point where it could fit over the sustain block and tighten. It was obvious straight away that the fit was far better, and that it would hold up for a long time.

So overall if you are using a Floyd Rose type design like the Original Floyd Rose, Schaller, or Gotoh you are probably best off using the pin type Tremol-no, but if you are using and Ibanez Edge derivative definitely make sure you get the small clamp type Tremol-no.

Liked about it Ease of install and use
* Turn fully floating tremolo in to dive only, or hard tail
* Ability to do double stop bends far more easily on floating trem when locked to dive only

Didn't like Nothing to not like, just make sure the right model is selected for your tremolo. There is a recommended listing of models on the Tremol-no website (http://www.tremol-no.com).

If I Had The Money, I Would Install One On All My Tremolos.

Comments This device does exactly what it's designed to do. There are 3 basic functions that this has, which include; full floating (trem functions as designed), hardtail (where the bridge is locked in place fully by 2 thumb screws in the back), and dive only (where a where a small aircraft grade aluminum block stops the trem from pulling up, and only allows it to act as a classic strat trem.

customer service has been great from these guys. they have an entire board set up with a few admins who respond to questions quickly, and with formidable information.

i have installed this device on my 2003 ibanez rgt42, with a lo-trs II trem, and it makes it work perfectly.

Liked about it -loved the ease of use
-has held up very well and works as designed
-has actually added sustain to my guitar (as there is more mass between the guitar and the bridge
-makes string changes/ drop tuning much easier

Didn't like i honestly cannot name one thing that I didn't like about this product. just know that you have to make sure the the device is flush with the bridge, and with the body or you will get a little bit of grind.
