I ordered this directly from the UK after e-mailing Tim Mills about a neck pickup similar to a Dimarzio Paf Pro to match with a Ceramic Warpig in an Ibanez S540FM. He recommended the Cold Sweat neck pickup. Before I ordered this, I went through a couple Dimarzio's beforehand; a Norton in the neck (louder than the C-Pig!) and an Air Norton (very nasally sounding). The pickup arrived in 2 weeks with specs at @8k, Alnico V magnet, open black coils with one row of hex poles.

This was my 2nd BKP scatter-wound pickup and was quite pleased ordering direct. Tim Mills was spot-on with his recommendation and I was quite surprised hearing the neck pickup was quite similar to a Paf Pro's smoothness and clarity. However, the Cold Sweat neck doesn't have that intense "Aoooo" the Paf Pro has even though its voicing is quite similar. It is a very warm sounding pickup that doesn't "thin out" on the high strings which makes it great for fluid-like leads in the upper register. Also works great for clean jazz tones when used with the volume and/or tone knob rolled-off.

Great Neck pickup!

Cant compare to the Paf pro as I haven't used one myself, its a much smoother pickup than the duncan 59 which I have much more experience with, it does cleans very very nicely and it's leads are absolutely brilliant very smooth and rounded, sounds good on High gains cleans or slightly broken up sounds and in between...

The sounds are great even with a a guitar tuned to D with 12-52's, all in a fanatastic pickup that really covers lot of ground...
Like most BKP's it comes with a set of Rotosound 10-46 strings.
Mine was a black covered humbucker with chrome screw poles, looks excellent and feels incredibly solid and well made....

Not much on this one other than the price there's very little to complain about the Cold Sweat...
Oh and the flat-head screws again Booo!
