DiMarzio DP159 Evolution bridge

Fron DiMarzio: - The result of years of research for a very demanding player: Steve Vai. - The DiMarzio DP159 Evolution Bridge Pickup is a hefty humbucker designed for maximum impact and power. The Evolution pickup's sound is tight, aggressive, and loud. The DP159 Evolution incorporates DiMarzio's patented dual-resonance coil configuration that senses more harmonic overtones than ordinary humbuckers. Perfect for solos that really cut through. Low notes are very tight, and the highs have a lot of presence. DiMarzio designed the DP159 pickup for Steve's Ibanez Jems, but it can add a lot of punch and definition to Les Paul and similar set-neck guitars - even the lowest bass notes really jump out of the amp, and feedback occurs easily with a wide range of harmonic overtones -

DEFINATLY THE BEST PICKUP IVE USED

Comments Hi i recently build myself my own custom ibanez rg jem hybrid from all original parts and used a dimarzio evolution set neck single and bridge pickups. they were the first choice for me after playing many guitars live ive always been blown away by the performance of the dimarzio evolutions there very clear and you REALLY CAN HEAR EVERY NOTE LIVE ! other pickups ive used dont do that the only ones that do this are evolutions paf pro or blaze in my expiriance. there very hot but if you want a softer sound just roll off the volume a bit. there very punchy and amazing for powerfull riffs. theres loads of harmonics and they squeal very nice.
great for fast solos but you can hear all the notes well so make sure you dont make a mistake.
i use them for recording too and there amazing for that also.
if you would like to hear what they perfom like in my home recording studio listen to my cover of FOR THE LOVE OF GOD BY STEVE VAI at
www.myspace.com/robhayesrockguitar and you can see photos of the guitar i built also its the swirled rg.
hope this helps you buy a pickup i know you wont be disapointed in.

Found a new favorite humbucker!

Comments As most of the Jemsite folks know, I'm a DiMarzio man. I have installed DiMarzio pickups in all of my guitars, and especially favor the Tone Zone. That was until yesterday. I just dumped a set of DiMarzio Evolutions into one of my Ibanez RG-570PN twins. I then connected the guitar straight into the amp so I could get a true impression of the pups. I plugged into channel 2 of my trusty Carvin Legacy and set the controls as follows: Bass 6, Mid 6, Treble 8, presence 10, drive 7. Let me tell you folks--these pickups are awesome! They have a nice, tight bottom end with silky highs, and a slighty open mid attack. The Evolution seems to have even more bite than my beloved Tone Zones. My wife stated that the tone seemed "pure." I agree. When juicing a tube amp, these Evolutions are a straight punch in the face tone. So go ahead and get yourself an Evolution--make sure to strap yourself in, 'cause it'll blow you away.

Liked about it Everything! The tone is just pure joy. They're available in the usual palatte of DiMarzio colors. Install is always a breeze. I really like the tight bottom end while still producing those silky highs. When trying these pups out, I just couldn't put my guitar down. I wanted to listen to the sweet Evolutions all night.

Didn't like Absolutely nothing!
