Ribbon Mics. Many people never use or don't know much about them, but wow can they really warm up a tone. The Nady RSM-4 is my first purchase of a ribbon mic, but not the first time I've used one. I've heard that the quality is not consistent on these ribbon mic, the tension may be loose on the ribbon, but mine was in fine shape. The ribbon mic really sounded warm on my vocal recording, about the complete opposite of my Rode NT1. It picked up the highs very well, but really added a warmth that is sometimes needed in a vocal mic. I also used it on my acoustic guitar and was a nice balance from my other condenser mics that I used. This mic has a figure 8 pickup pattern. Best thing, all this was had for $79.00.

All ribbon mics are sensitive if they are dropped
I've heard (but did not experience) some of these come with the ribbon being a bit slack
