The Soul Of Your Music featured

Comments Recording engineers are using it in studios all around the world.
BBE maximizer takes out that nasal mid frequencies and make bass and treble frequencies pump out of the speaker.
It can be used with intruments or with the entire mix.It brings life to your recording.
I use it in all my songs cause after mixing, having so many instruments and different frequencies generally it loses treble, you can't hear that shimmering hi hat,bbe brings that treble back.
If bass and bass drum are too thin, bbe makes them scream.
Too much and it can kills your mix but when used properly,it brings life to your music.

Interesting piece of gear for sure.

Comments I play in a metal band with another guitarist who uses one of these, of course if it's in the practice space I have to mess with it at least a little.

Liked about it What I really liked about this unit was the punch it adds to your tone. It's almost like extra presence and resonance knobs that work with the ones on the amps I use(5150/6505+). Given the range of control the resonance and presence have on those amp, this unit adds even more control for some crazy tweaking range.

Didn't like What bothers me about the BBE is it seems to take that sparkle out a natural all tube tone. It does add a lot in different areas of your tone to make it better, but for me it's not enough to justify whatever it is taking away from my tone. The other guitarist in my band likes it a lot. He's more of a rhythm player, that might have something to do with it. I'd say at the very least worth trying before buying. A lot of people are hit and miss with these things so be careful before you spend the money, try it out!
