Good for home recording, worth the money

Comments Nearly unlimited combination of pre-amps, power amps, cabinets, mics, effects for guitar and even a few for bass. Very easy to follow interface looks like an amp and uses virtual dials and switches to control parameters. Lots of pre-built amp models to mimic classic sounds or popular artists.

Liked about it Sounds better than you'd expect. You won't get a dead-on black face twin reverb or flawless replication of Vai's tone on Passion & Warfare, but you get reasonably close. It's extremely easy to use, virtually no learning curve. Compatible as a VST, AU or RTAS plug-in, so it should work with any recording software you're using.

Didn't like Not good enough for serious recording. Not that I expected this, but nobody else should either. Similar to other amp modeling hardware/software out there, you can tell you have a digitally created tone. Sucks a lot of memory, so unless you have a really cutting edge workstation, you'll probably have to bounce tracks down through a bus if there are multiple guitars. Very limited options for bass. I still think direct to the board is your best bet, but if you want to get a neat bass tone, it's tough to do.

Definitely worth the money!

Comments Amplitude 2 is defintely worth it! i use it to record, i use it to jam, i bring my laptop and speaker and use it for jam sessions at my mates house! sounds perfect, clean and you can virtually make any sound of this!

Liked about it the top 3 things i liekd about this software!
1 - All distortion sounded real and organic, no line 6 processed crap.
2 - Massive range of effects, distortions, ability to create your own rigs!
3 - loads of pedal effects - delay, flanger, chorus and more!

Didn't like 1 - Not enough spaces for pedals! need 7 but only 6 pedals!
2 - unless you buy metal, you find yourself a tad limited
3 N/A
