This is another one of my allergy complaints. I posted one before, but oh well. For the past two hours I haven't been able to stop sneezing. Just one of those REALLY crappy days. I went and did the allergy shots for a year and a half and that doesn't really seem like it did much.
So right now I'm at work and on DayQuil. About an hour ago I fell asleep in my chair, but woke up just in time to go pick up the inmates. I feel like CRAP!!

I just want to cut my nose off and dig into my face with a spoon!

I really don't have a clue how the human body can produce so much snot so bloody fast!
Amazing, isn't it? A good deal of the time, though, I'm TRYING to blow my nose, but I'm so congested, that nothing even comes out. My whole head feels like a big snot brick.

I've thought about sticking a pressure washer hose up my nose, but I'd probably just blow my brains out through my ear!

At first I was hoping for an Anti-Robert Smith thread.

Allegra works best for me, and I have gotten so bad I couldn't even yawn.
My throat was so raw if I opened my mouth all the way it would just shut.
I couldn't sleep, I would snore so loud I would wake myself up.

I'm not sure what's worse:

-Allergies that won't go away

-being so addicted to Jemsite that you're falling asleep at work and feeling like sh!t, and you still come on here to post (been there  )

I know how you feel though, I suffer from migranes, almost every single day. I'm finally almost cured of it, after dozens of doctors appointments and a trip to see a migrane specialist. Even now, though, I still get migranes occasionally.

(edit: I see the swear filter works  Didn't even realize I typed it)

Are youse guys having desensitization shots from the allergist? What meds are you taking? I use Loradadine which is the generic (less expensive) version of Claritin. No prescription needed. Also NasalCrom spray may be available over the counter, its a mast cell stabilizer that slows on of the steps in the allergic reaction. I've found benedryl too sedating...

Of course you can go to your MD (and pay more) for Zyrtec, Allegra, Clarinex, Periactin. The secret to successful allergy therapy is to find the Rx/OTC that works for you as there are a few classes of medication including H1 blockers, antihistamines, phenothiazine derivatives, leucotriene antagonists. Good luck.

Luckily I don't have to pay for the medical care (being military). So I got referred to a clinic downtown and they started with the shots. I made it through roughly 6 years of shots in a year and a half. I went every other day and got a shot in both arms each visit. If you've had the anthrax shot and know how painful that is, multiply it by about 10 and that's what the higher doses feel like with the allergy shots.

I found that Allegra-D and Flonase are the BEST combo for me. They work 100%, however, the base hospital no longer stocks Allegra-D. Jerks.
