Hi All,

I know I post alot of stuff on this forum but I seriously need your guys' help on making some decision regarding a restoration project of my 2000 JS100 I bought. Heres the damage already on it

-cracks, dings, dents, belt marks on the finish
-neck plate is cracked and warped
-knobs are loose, electronics are damaged pickups are fine
-damage to the wood near the tremolo
-bad tremolo, warped around the bar, fine tuners are jammed
-screws/mounting holes are too big making the screws loose
-the strap pins are not the original
-the satin finish on the neck has turned glossy

I was thinking...

-refinish the body in original color (black) 8)
-replace screws
-new trem
-new pots and knobs

I need your help with...

-Where do I get an Ibanez Prestige Neckplate ?
-what kind of trem do you guys recommend? original is low trs 2 I was thinking GOTOH FLOYD, or the japanese Takeuchi TRS-Pro or the Takeuchi 101, not the OFR

thanks guys
sorry the post is so long lol

JS: What other pickups have given you good results?

I absolutely love the combination, but I am considering buying another JS guitar and trying a set of humbuckers that are very different - particularly with more output. I know that a pickup will sound different from one guitar to another because of a guitar's body wood.

So, what other combinations have given you good results? Some combo's I'd be interested in:

[Bridge / Neck]

- Super Distortion / Paf Pro (or) Air Norton
- Duncan 59 / Alnico Pro II
- Evo's
- Mo Joe / Paf Joe

...what else would you recommend?

A question for all JS junkies

Since I bought my JS1000 two years ago I have also bought several other electric guitars. To name a few: Fender 1954 RI Strat, Ibanez SV-470, Ibanez RG-550, Ibanez AS-80.

Since I bought my JS1000 two years ago I have also bought several other electric guitars. To name a few: Fender 1954 RI Strat, Ibanez SV-470, Ibanez RG-550, Ibanez AS-80. They're all neat, but none of them feel as magical in my hands as the JS. What I absolutely love about the JS:

1. It is just dripping with the most gorgeous harmonics and feedback
2. The body lays against my body as comfortable as a soft blanket
3. The neck is the greatest thing I've ever felt, including flawless access to higher frets
4. The Fred and Paf Pro combo is the greatest thing I've ever heard

I really am this much in love with it, and after trying so many other guitars I am appreciating it on a whole new level. (The only guitar that comes close is my Ibanez SV-470 which has an S body with a Viper neck. It reminds me of the JS in many ways which is why that is my second favorite.)

QUESTION: Who else here feels the way I do about the JS?

At this point I foresee just buying used JS models for the rest of my life and just using different pickups in each one for different musical applications. Is this why so many of you buy multiple JS guitars? At first I thought it was just a collectors kind of thing, but do many of you buy them because it really is your favorite guitar to play?
