So far, I have played a few of the emenince speakers but when i played the Warehouse Guitar speakers they seemed to be more clear and present with their tone..

So there are 3 WGS speakers i like the tone of..

12” HM75 (75w RMS)
12” ET65 (65w RMS)
12” Reaper HP (50w RMS)

My amp is 40w of tube head, this speaker is going into a 1x12 closed back cab..I will mostly be playing heavy metal, death metal and melodic metal.

Like-
Godsmack
drowningpool
deathklok
Slipknot
etc etc........

I really like all three but I have only played the HM75 and it kills, but the cleans of the Reaper and ET65 sound sweet on the WGS site..

Any experience with these??

I've been in a continuous struggle, however, trying to decide which of these three to purchase: Rocktron G-100, Boss ME-70, and Vox Tonelab LE.

I'd like to know which of them has the best sounding delays and reverbs, and of course which one is better overall. Seeing as they're closely priced, I don't mind paying a little more for one or the other. I'm open to any and all suggestions.
Thanks in advance,
I was either going to build a 1x12 cab or a 2x12 cab.. if i build a 1x12 cab i can spend more on the speaker. If i build a 2x12 cab well i wont be able to get really good speakers..not to mention i can build a second 1x12 cab later if i want it.. Make me a full stack..LOL
I play heavy metal, rock, blues and some country.. i like a low deep crunch and when i play metal i want to feel it..

I tried one of these out on Saturday and thought I'd give my impressions in a thread. I don't feel like I got to demo it long or well enough to add a review yet, but I'll be back there this week.
I have to say that I was very impressed with the amp. I tried it out alongside a Blackstar HT-5H with 1 10" cab and an Egnater Rebel 30. I was suprised at how similar it was to the tones of the Blackstar with more volume. It's a shared EQ on both channels, but I found the cleans to be nice and open and with a touch of the on board chorus I got some really nice dreamy sounds. The crunch channel was more similar to the saturation of the Blackstar than the vintage-ly voiced dirt of the Egnater. The echo was decent for Gilmour type stuff although I still feel that dedicated external delays are a bit better and more controllable. I didn't get a chance to really try out the boost features or the effects loop and emulated line out. That's on the agenda for next time and after a little more time, I'll write a complete review in the comparison shopping section.
I was pretty impressed and it's definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a small tube combo that can handle gig volumes and has a few extra features.

Just picked up a Line 6 M9 and decided to redo the board when I added it. The board doesn't look as nice as the older one, but the M9 s pretty sweet. I'm usually not a fan of multi-effects, but this one functions more like individual stompboxes. So far its very easy to use. I know there are scenes that can be programmed in, I'm not sure if I will use that feature but everything is cool. It's basically all the Line 6 big stompboxes in one unit, plus the Verbzilla, a 28 second looper, tuner, and compressor.

Even when using retarded amounts of gain, I can't seem to get more then 8 seconds of sustain, and it cuts off sharp, like going from full power to dead in a half a second. I can't seem to generate "nice" feedback either. What am I doing wrong?!?
The first thing I noticed was a lot of static and crackling while the amp was sitting idle. I just figured it has a bad pre-amp tube. As I played on I was VERY pleased with the tone. I usually boost the clean channels of my amps for my lead tones. That has always sounded the best to me, even on my Legacy. However, this amp's lead channel is 100% useable to my ears. I loved it. Still, the sweetest sound I got out of it was by maxing the drive, bass, mid and treble of the clean channel and hitting it with a boost from my BB Preamp.

All of the tonal bliss was destroyed when the amp started to cut out randomly. I pulled the tubes to check if they were loose. One was, but it was V5 which is for the effects loop. I spread the pins on the 12ax7 and put it back in. The amp hasn’t cut out since then but it still crackles and pops a little.

As if that weren't enough, I discovered that when the reverb was on, the volume pedal I had in the effects loop would cut the dry signal, but the guitar would still swell through the reverb at about half of the original volume. If I took reverb out with the footswitch or turned the reverb knob all the way down the problem was "fixed". Lame. I then proceeded to replace that tube with a good Mesa I had pulled out of my Express a year ago. There was no change, but now the amp would go static if I set the volume pedal more than about half way. The amp would run at full volume if the effects loop was turned off at the footswitch or unplugged from the amp.

I contacted Egnater and explained the problem. They responded with a schematic and an offer to send me new tubes. I accepted, but half of the problems I described in this post occurred after our correspondence. I decided to call *************** and ask for an exchange. Hopefully this new one will give me all of the great tone with none of the problems. If not, I guess I have to go on the hunt again.
If when I use the bar and I notice the pitch comes back slightly lower, do I just tighten the springs a little and try again?
I have seen lots of procedures for a floating Floyd, but none for a blocked Floyd.

Hi All,

Just wanted to know what you folks thought of the Mesa Studio preamp. I'm purchasing one shortly--so I thought I would come here to find any owners of one. Tonality wise, how does it compare to the Quad? Are they similiar? I've been a Boogie fan since I started playing back in the late 80s and use to play on one of these that a friend had hoooked up to his rack rig and from what I remember it was killer sounding. I'm thinking of purchasing the Peavey 50/50 power amp to go along with it since I won't have the cash to throw down for a Mesa power amp at the moment.

Any folks out here have one of these that they would like to share their interest about? Thanks!

Hello people, so after getting the LC50 a few months ago (sorry I couldn't make clips yet) I've been dreaming about getting a 2x12 extension cabinet built (I got plans from the internet) for it, not only because it would probably be louder but also because it'll help with preventing tube microphonics due to sound waves pounding on the tubes from the back of the stock speaker's cone. Plus it'll probably help with tightening the low end a bit.

Here's the first problem: the LC50 has 50 watts of power, and I know that there are things like impedance and wattage that need to be considered when buying new speakers to match them to the amp. I plan to wire two 12 inch Jensen MODs in parallel, and each speaker should be rated at 16 ohms so that when connected to the amp they would only have 8 ohms (the amp's rated impedance), right? How about the wattage of the speakers then? For instance, would two 110 watt speakers add up to 220 watts when connected in parallel or would they stay at 110 watts?

According to the Jensen website, speaker watts should be at least double the amp's for longer speaker life. I assume that this has to do with the RMS/Peak wattage rating thing on amps? The one that says 30 watt amps MAY go a bit over 30 watts when 'pushed harder', for example? Should I use speakers with 100 watts total to satisfy this condition, or would 50 watts do fine?

Second problem: while I do love my LC50, I still keep my crappy MG100DFX for when I'm just messing around with effects and practicing, and so it would be great if I could also hook up the 2x12 cab to it if need be. However, it is rated at 100 watts. Again, according to the Jensen website, speaker watts should at least be double the amp's wattage for longer speaker life. If this were true, then I should get speakers with watts adding up to 200. However, going back to the LC50, how would speakers 4 times the amp's wattage affect the tone?

Thanks in advance for reading the post, I hope you could give some advice. BTW, I'm trying to save on costs so I just might the relatively cheap MODs, which seem to be favored quite well by people.

I'm using the band's other guitarist's XXX at rehearsal (and most likely gig with it) and theres be a few issues that done need to be addressed.

I plan on getting entirely new tubes for it, including preamp tubes, and since I'm not to familiar with tube brands, what do you recommend and why? JJs? Ruby? Grooves? I'm really interested in preamp tube choices also.

Hopefully the following issues will be resolved once I throw some new tubes in there, but I'll ask them in anyway.

-The clean channel distorts way to easily, and sounds bad in general. I wasn't expecting a miraculous clean tone with a XXX, but this is bordering unusable. The pickups I'm using is a Dsonic and a blue velvet, and even heavy picking with the blue velvet will drive the amp.

-Excessive feedback! Even with the cable unplugged from the amp, when turned up really high, it will start feedbacking. Strange!

-Hum. I was kind of expecting it, and will start using a noise gate from now on I suppose.

Also...I noticed that it sounds better when the Micro POG or POG is before distortion/OD pedals. Will the effect be the same if I use it before the Amps distortion?I really don't like the Synthesizer sound that comes out of the Micro POG/POG when used after the Distortion.
Thank you in advance :)

i own a mesa 5:25 combo, very good amp, not exactly the sound i'm looking for, but i'm not getting another amp for a long time so i use it.

anyway, for a long time, can't remember when, it's had this strange kind of ringing noise that happens when you play a loud note, like on the burn channel or if the clean channel is loud-ish. like if you strum an open chord on the clean channel, there will be this metallic ringing sound. it kind of sounds as if there's a loose screw vibrating against the speaker or something, but i don't think there is. it definitely sounds like some kind of vibration.

also, on the burn channel (highest gain channel) with gain around 70% and master volume on about 70% too, the sound is really horrible at low volumes. like, notes break up and crackle and stuff. i got it almost exactly 2 years ago and it gets used a lot and i was wondering if the tubes are starting to pack in.

this is my first tube amp and i'm not exactly in the know about all the specific of tubes. i looked at em today and they had a blue colouring to them at the back of the tubes. there's the normal amber kind of glow and then there's a blue-ish glow at the back of them which i understand can mean a few things, one of them being a tube breaking down.

i'm gonna take it in for a look but still, any info?
