Re: $100 Contest. Are you in?

I think this one should definitely be limited to people who've been here a certain amount of time. The last one took the wind out of a few people's sails, I wonder how many people were like "WTF? who is Paul R?" lol

I also think that anyone entering this one should have "Big Money Hustlaaa~!" or something as a permanent title instead of "Might win a Jem" just to outline the prestige in it being a $100 contest.

I may very well be in depending on the circumtances

Re: $100 Contest. Are you in?

Hey guys, if my math is correct that is 19 people:

Tabsjunk, nightfiend, dv8rulz, GiS, Kenny, damo, kirk, jemplayer55, kdad, jaxadam, ibzcollector, jjemmer, wildchild, gurj, algiman, ned78, distantshore, markdy, ibanez249

Sorry if I butchered anyone's screen name.

List price on a Jem7VWH is $2800, and a dealer can sell one for $1700 and still make money on it. Obviously that doesn't include the "touch of god," but you do get an opportunity to win a new guitar.

List price on the Jem77BRMR is $3107, and a dealer can sell it for $1900 and still make money on it. Again, the blessing by the pope is not included, but I'd be willing to pass on that.

Or, I like my other idea - a "gear gift certificate" to do with as you please. Then you can get whatever guitar you'd like to.

Again, I'd act as treasurer if trusted to do so, but only if I can participate.

Thanks for going thru and counting. was dreading doing so.

BTW, I'm definitely NOT in a $100 contest. I entered the last one so we could get on with it (and i had $25 burning a hole in my pocket)...I already have more guitars than i know what to do with and i don't need another jem.

I think it'd be helpful if we plan to definitvely open the contest in July, so people who are saving or earmarking money have a deadline. I know there are a few. As long as the drawing process is the same, Kirk whould be able to enter.

I'd say 7 more 'i would' answers will get this thing going.

who else?

I didn't know that your post meant "I'm in." I thought you were being one of those picky people who want to set unique parameters for the contest, like "I will only join if a monkey delivers the guitar in a red trcuk."

You are in...but nothing has really happened yet.

Re: $100 Contest. Are you in?

I think it's as simple as opening up to receive money, give a cut off date and get it on! If we don't have the needed cash by the cut off date everyone gets a full refund. Furthermore, I think we should set a cutoff date within 2 weeks of the opening, and a drawing for the third week.

That's just my opinion, and I don't have any input into how these contests go. I'm pleased with the way Kenny & Glen & the gang have been running things.

I'm waiting to hear from the contest guru.....
