That's just my opinion, and I don't have any input into how these contests go. I'm pleased with the way Kenny & Glen & the gang have been running things.

I'm waiting to hear from the contest guru.....
busy busy weekend guys. haven't been on.

the only caveat of giving a cutoff/refund is that paypal take a buck or two right off the top, so everyone would have to agree that they'll get their $100 back minus fees, whatever they are.

I still think that there should be a scheduled start date, since most here seem to need time to accumulate funds...maybe July 23rd or something...if the entries don't go by Aug. 23, cancel it out.

At least then the people who are saving will have a finish line in sight.

I wasn't joking Depending on ~which~ Jem you guys finally end up deciding on etc, we could make it a $ 105 - $110 contest and Kenny gets in. If your willing to pay $ 100, then what is an x-tra 5/10 spot?? After all, it's the least he deserves for putting forth time/efforts to organize and handle all these contests. I am sure it can be a bit of a PIA!

Oh boy I sure hope you have a lot of friends Kenny, or I could be in some deep doo doo

Re: $100 Contest. Are you in?

Guys, if we do a VWH, we only need to raise $1700 (plus shipping & Pay Pal fees.) With $1900 Kenny could be in the contest.

Seriously, I don't think that with 19 people we need to raise the entry fee even a dime. After Pay Pal fees, we have a total of approximately $1824, enough to cover the guitar, case and shipping.

Or am I missing something?

Re: $100 Contest. Are you in?

Glen, I can think of a few Ibanez dealers who have them in stock, who are competitive and price match. I've been made aware of the fact that these dealers are not an option in this contest.

Understand that I am only tyring to keep the odds as low as possible and offer the contestants more bang for their buck. I appreciate the attention to detail some resellers may offer. However, the Ibanez warranty should cover any "issues" that may come with a guitar from a supercenter or an unknown mom & pop. I can handle a setup without the $300 upcharge.

Trust me, I get it. Now I'll keep my mouth shut and wait for the details.

Hi, since there will be 20-ish of you guys, you guys have free reign (within the law and forum decorum of course)... i'm not going to get involved with this one. I'm just stating for the record $1800-ish after paypal subtractions is less after shipping... is a "jem case" included?... watch the costs and if the guitar is in STOCK vs "coming" from hUSA/Chesbro (in 4-6 months).

I already recommended the "low price" alternate and let the winner pay setup (if they want)... gives better odds... glen

Same here, I'm not 100% until I know what's going on officially.

There is no warranty coverage for any guitar shipped outside the US, and no warranty coverage for anyone but the original purchaser. Bottom line, there is no warranty coverage. That was already discussed in the original contest thread several months ago.

Re: $100 Contest. Are you in?

Added value would be a store credit or gift certificate. The winner now has the option of choice of gear, and the benefit of a manufacturer's warranty. Hell, I'd choose something under $1k and either roll the balance into the next contest or give it up to charity. However, I understand that this may not be an option for the forum sponsors who are supporting the contest.

I just need to put the blinders on and head for the finish line. $100 for a top of the line Ibanez guitar is good enough for me. Let me know when and where to send my loot......

Oh, and how about adding another $500 for delivery by stripper-gram???
