Dou you really have to have 20 posts before you can add pics?

I'm new to this site. Love it, but I am trying to sell a new JS1000BP and trying to upload pics of it. I went to photobucket, set up account, uploaded pics and go a message saying you need 20 posts before putting on pics. It will probably take some time for me for me to do that. Any ideas would help.

I understand that it is easy to get to 20 posts, but it still hasn't been mentioned WHY we need 20 posts before posting links or pictures.

to slow down inline images from SPAMMERS. i'll see if it can be lowered a bit from 20 considering many join for the classifieds.

also keep in mind the classified area doesn't show direct IMG tags anyways, only image links ...glen

Hey guys -

I'm posting here because I wanted to add my sentiments for changing the 20 post minimum. While I've been researching my first Ibanez guitar purchase, I've been a close follower of everything happening here. I just got my first Ibanez, and RG2EX1!

I had a friend do a custom paint job on it, and I just got it back. I raced here to post pics for all to see, and "DONK!" - I can't post my pics! DOH!

I understand why it is done, but it would be nice if there was a different way.

Anyway - 19 more to go before I can post pics of my "Stars and Stripes" RG2!

My $.02, as and admin for a few different forums (non-guitar oriented) would be to keep the 20 post minimum.

Spam bots, Google bots, and auto registering scripts are too prevalent.

20 posts is nothing.

Don't put more pressure on Glen and the other mods. this is a high traffic site, and therefore subject to targeting by spammers. If you are truly a guitarist, you should have no trouble finder 20 relevant things to say!

Glen, I'm finding the 20 post rule an obstruction to enjoying Jemsite. I understand that this is to stop spammers but it forces new members to post 20 posts of utter crap just so that they can share pics. Can it be taken down to 10, maybe?
