Today we are launching the Jemsite Reviewers' Club. Our goal with this is to encourage everyone to share their experience on products they've used and stores they've bought from.
Jemsite Comparison Shopping covers today almost 4,000 products... guitars, amps, pedals, strings, etc. With a click you can compare prices in over 100 stores and find the best deal. But we want Jemsite Comparison Shopping to be much more than price comparison - Your reviews on products you've had experienced with will help us take it in that direction!
Start reviewing products today! Just search on Jemsite Comparison Shopping for a product you've used, click write review and share with the rest of us your experience.
Members of the Jemsite Reviewers' Club enjoy the following benefits:
Recognition by the community with the Jemsite Reviewer badge
shining next to their avatar
Elegibility to receive gear from companies that want their products tested and reviewed by the Jemsite Reviewers Club.
The Club will welcome Jemsite Members that have contributed at least 10 product reviews (in accordance with the Jemsite Review Guidelines).
By sharing your experience about products you've owned - you are helping everyone else!!!
Wonderful idea! I am looking forward to sharing my experiences so others can make sound investments! I know I've spent WAYYYY too much money over the years just to "try" something!!
It seems like we are off to a good start! We already have over 50 reviews published, excellent quality! Thanks for everyones' contribution!
I am also very happy to announce our :!: :!: FIRST JEMSITE REVIEWER: smooth55! Congratulations :!: :!: Your Reviewer badge is already shining below your username!
To make it easy for those reviewing products to track what they've reviewed, we've added a tab to your Member Profile that says "Reviews" and clicking on it will give you a list of all the reviews you've submitted and the ability to click and go to the review itself.
One last thing... We've added below your "Post count" your "Review count" making it easy for all to see how many reviews has one contributed.
Many have PMed me that same question... As of late next week we will be adding a feature enabling selected members to "Add Products" to Jemsite Comparison Shopping. I'll be posting about it as soon as we add the feature and if you're interested in being allowed to add products - let me know by posting on this thread.
Thanks once again to all those contributing!!! Keep them coming! Keep the detail level you've been using and the quality!! Each of you has a ton of experience and by sharing it via quality reviews you'll be helping thousands make informed decisions!!
Jemsite has always been a great forum, and is a seriously good resource for all things guitar. I think that the changes that have been made on the last year or so have only served to improve this.
I personally added 3 reviews yesterday in about an hour. To anyone else thinking of carrying out some reviews; it is really striaghtforward and the layout is clear and easy.
I just need to find another 47 products to review so I can apply for the Sr. reviewer badge
I've got to tell you that I am blown away by the quality of the reviews that are being submitted! Out of 80 that have been published I can count in one hand those that were light in content... Members are really getting into details that I am sure will make the Jemsite Reviews a great source of info for anyone considering a guitar or guitar related gear.
One nice thing that we've added is that next to each review there is the username of the member that submitted it which links to his/her profile. There is also a link to "Ask username a question" which will create a new thread and PM the reviewer about the thread and the question. We hope this will increase the credibility of the reviews and help people ask questions that may result from reading the review.
One important technical note: If you submit a review while being loged out, the system will ask you to enter your name and email. Pls use your Jemsite User Name as otherwise the review will not be taken into consideration in your review count. We are probably going to allow only logged-in members to enter reviews - but until we do that - pls either make sure you are loged in, or make sure you enter your username.
First, I am happy to welcome 6fingers to the Jemsite Reviewers Club! Our second official reviewer - your badge is now next to your avatar. Thanks and keep them coming!
Second, this morning we reached 100 Published Reviews!! Very exciting progress... I think we are on track to become a leading repository of quality reviews!!!! Congrats and thanks to all those contributing. :!:
Our goal is to have the "Add" button out by this coming Thursday... It's a bit of a strech as we have other things we are working on but hopefully things will go well.
And... Actually a big AND I am happy to announce two new Jemsite Reviewers... UV-7-BK and courtney2018 both have contributed great quality reviews with a fair amount of details!!!
We are making good progress with the Reviews initiative here... We are very close to 150 reviews now!!! Can we get to 1,000 by Xmas? That would be great!!
I am happy to welcome Zepp3lin to the Reviewers Club. Keep it up! Don't stop now.
There are a handful of members that are close to 10 reviews... We look fw to welcoming you soon.
We are working hard to have it avail tomorrow... As simple as it may sound - it actually is quite complicated.
I still believe we will release it tomorrow but it will be considered BETA and accordingly, I am thinking we are going to give access to it only to the Reviewers to keep things controlled. If we see it works well, then next week we could broaden the group that gets to add products. If we see it creates problems - we shall fix those and then re-try. Stay tuned.
I can see a conflict with it if two or more people are trying to add the same item, but naming it differently. It might be best to make it so the admin has to approve an add before it actually shows up in the list so there won't be duplicates of the same thing.
why not duplicates with different opinions?
It'd be even better cause nobody has the same ears.A few different reviews of the same product. This will only prooves that reviews is good for building up an opinion but not as a 100% thing cause people listen to things in different ways.
Different opinions are fine. I'm talking about duplicates of the same product. Like, you wouldn't want 3 people adding the same product under slightly different names. That would give you 3 listings for the same product with opinions probably under each. I think it would be better if we just submitted the product to be added and then let the admin decide how it's to be named in the list.
The "Add a New Product" feature is a power tool that needs to be given only to power-users that we know won't be adding duplicate products right-and-left. And even then, it needs to be moderated by someone (me for now) that will make sure the new product that has been added - is not already there under a slightly different name. So there is the Add the Product, there is the moderation behind it and it doesn't end there... because we want to allow these power-users to "Add a New Product" and "Review it" in the same go - and that poses certain complexity too because we are allowing a user to review a product that is moderated (as opposed to published). See - you now know alot more about this feature that you ever wanted.
I still hope to launch it later today (Thursday).
Oh... and one last clarification -just in case it isn't clear. The Reviews component, as it is now, does allow for multiple members to review the same product and offer different opinions on it. And this of course will continue to be the case.
I'm trying to get a pic in but when I go to photo bucket and try to copy and
paste the image in the pic box(where the brouse button is), right click won't function..
My pic is way bigger than 300kb more like 1.2mb.Is there anyway around this?
DUDE it's written BROWSE there so you have to BROWSE a pic from your computer and not a LINK to it.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
