Thats true! I´m really sorry for you !
I came in exact the same situation one year ago. My father had a tumor in his head and died exact 2 weeks ago. The last year wasn´t easy for all of us.
But without an operation he would have died in a couple of weeks. We have tried to make the best in this one year and had a nice time.He was 62.

No need to say it but if you need anything you know to just ask.
I remember reading on Rich's site when he posted about how his mother was ill and he would be taking time to care for her.
I guess it's the small things that stick with us and add a human element to the websites we visit.
Glen, even though we have never met my heart goes out to you and your family. And even though it's been a while since she passed, I am sorry for your loss Rich.

I am deeply saddened to hear about life throwing you and your family a curve ball, I don't think there are too many of us here who have not been touched by this disease in some shape or form, and it will be a struggle to go through. You've made your little nitch here on the net quite a support system across the world, take some comfort without meaning that at least in time his suffering will end along with the pain. My prayers will go out to you.

Re: My dad was told he has one year to live in which he will starve to death :-(
My deepest most sincere thoughts and prayers to you and your family. I never knew my dad, so it always pains me to hear when a good dad is taken or about to be taken from the world. You are blessed to have him, and it may not bring much comfort but at least you have time to prepare. It won't make the pain any less as I found out when my Grandfather had a similar passing. At least you can take some comfort no matter how small in being able to tell him the things you always wanted to but were afraid to. I'm glad I got to tell my Grandfather how much I loved him and how great I thought he was before he passed. He died less than a week later. It's important for everyone to tell their loved ones how much they are loved often. You never know when God is going to take them from us. My love and prayers to you and your family. Bless you all .

Re: My dad was told he has one year to live in which he will starve to death :-(
Glen - No words can express how sorry I am to hear this news. As you know, it's been a rough year for me too. Even though the situations were different in many ways, they are that much the same so I can somewhat relate. My wife is probably better "educated" since this is a very similar condition to what her mother went through a couple of years ago.
If there is anything that my family or I can do to help, don't hesitate to ask.

Glen,
Be strong and remember you have many friends who are concerned!
Let's hope for a miracle but also keep in mind he will be in a better place if his time comes.
Take care and if you need anything to help you cope, don't be afraid to ask ANY jemsiter!

Yeah, really, really sorry to hear this.
Something similar happened to my dad when I was about fifteen. It's really difficult at first, but it gets better.
