Re: The next decade... (jemsite.com 2/14/2008)

The very first night I got on the internet in early 1997 [on a friends computer] I had intentions of trying to find a JS1BK, which I had been looking for locally for years with no luck. My friend showed me Google and of course Jemsite came up high in the search and was pretty much the first and only site I was on that night. Needless to say in the classifieds was languishing a JS5 nobody wanted, the seller had even just reduced the price $100 to an even $1000. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, I just wanted black, but I was intrigued enough to call [I didn't have a computer or email, but he had posted his phone number in the add], and the long and short of it, the rest is history. Within a couple months I was a budding dealer, and within a couple more it went full time, and I've never looked back.

If Jemsite didn't exist, I probably wouldn't either

Well done Glen! Yes, the change is uncomfortable in not knowing what the future might bring. But whatever it brings, the last decade has been memorable. We all owe you a toast, so hold your glasses high!

I hope you're not losing ownership completely. I don't mind the change, but I'd hate to see you lose the jemsite.com name and domain. Other than that, big thanks to you for a great site. I hope it continues to be the center of the Ibanez and Jem community.

Hey Glen,
END OF AN ERA!
Let's toast in the new era with a fond look back on the last 11 years.

Especially those of us who've been around awhile - wish you the best.

Re: The next decade... (jemsite.com 2/14/2008)

Glen, Like many others said THANKS. I have learned more about guitars, other people, and more importantly myself through this site, and it's people, than I have any where else. I really hope this will give you a lot more time to be a regular posting member, as you always have so much great things to say.

Rich, for a man who is well known for his lack of words, very very nicely said! chef21

"The Times They Are A-Changin" as Bob Dylan once sang..... Gotta take a minute to thank you Glen, all of the moderators, all of the sponsors, and lastly all of the site contributors as well as the rest of the members who have come together to make this "THE" guitar/music web site to be a part of!

Thanks for all your hard work thus far Glen. Maybe you'll get chance to just come here and hang out in future rather than worrying about all the behind the scenes stuff.

Thanks Glen for creating and running this site for so long. Definitely the best guitar site on the web and the best web community around.
Glad you will still be involved too. Cheers!

I hope the part about raising sufficient funds doesn't mean we are about to get plastered with ads...

Here's to JEMSITE'S second decade (and beyond)! Thanks, Glen.
