Hey Glen,

I'd heard rumours, but I'd somehow missed this thread. I just wanted to say thanks for the role this site has played in my life - when I signed up back in probably '99 or so, I was a freshman in college, who owned a strat, listened to Satriani, punk rock, and blues, and used to laugh at the pictures of the green Jems in Musicians Friend catalogues. Today, I still think a lot of the Jems are pretty funny looking, but I've owned a whole slew of Ibanez guitars over the years, including my current two players, a 1527 and a mongrel PWH. My musical tastes have broadened tremendously, in part because of this site, I've learned enough about guitar teching that I've got buddies constantly dropping by my place with bottles of gin looking for the "magic Drew Peterson setup," and I've made a bunch of friends in this community and in comunities I've gotten involved through here.

Hell, I never even heard of seven string guitars before I signed up here. Let's just say I'd be a very different musician today had it not been for this place. I owe you one, if we ever cross paths the first round of drinks is on me.

Wow, how did I miss this thread for so long?

I, like Rich, found Jemsite during my first day on the internet. I joined the old boards, but lost my e-mail and password. I joined again for good in December of '01 as ScreamJem7 and just recently changed my screen name. I guess I don't post as often as some others because of my introverted personality, but I probably browse for an hour or four each day.

Thanks, Glen for the great place we call jemsite.com. My wife doesn't care too much for this site or the members who post pics of their G.A.S. inducing, checkbook draining photos, but without you folks I'd probably be a raging alcoholic. The next round is on me!

I don't think i'd be alone when I say Jemsite has become a part of my life. From learning a wealth of knowledge about guitar/s to the diverse community that this website has formed.

Just four months after it was first announced I find out this. Even though I visit the jemsite forum almost daily I never noticed any ads etc.

Like everyone else here at jemsite I'd like to thank you Glen for all the great work you've done. Jemsite is still after all these years the #1 site out there (exept for all the porn sites, but that is a topic for another thread. )
