Warnings/Infractions (red/yellow cards)

We now have a red/yellow card system that the moderators and myself can quickly impliment. This will be used to hopefully curb inappropriate posts. These are visible in any post you make and your profile. You will know you were warned as a PM is automatically sent to you.

PLEASE DO NOT PM BACK AND DEBATE THE WARNING/INFRACTION as all of them EXPIRE AUTOMATICALLY (except spamming which gets a ban)

Each "warning or infraction" has a different point value, and most of them expire so normal behaviour will result in 0 points, warnings or infractions.

For example in a thread you might see this under a username:
Infractions: 1/3 (12)
This means 1 warning / 3 infractions and (12) points.

If you reach a certain number of points (10 currently), you're automatically suspended. PLEASE NOTE that any post warning PM/email discussion or debate will result in an automatic 7-14 day suspension. We do not have time nor the the desire to engage in deabate about your posts or what other people posted (who didn't get an infraction). Let me repeat again they EXPIRE so this is just a quick and easy "please post with care" notice that others can see.

here is the current list...

Code:
Title Points Expires Warning Only
Avatar Content Violation 2 14 Days Yes
Inappropriate Language 2 28 Days No
Classified inappropriate posting
or bumping 2 14 Days No
Classified Ad - asking price not listed	2 14 Days Yes
Discussion of illegal downloads,
file sharing, etc. 3 21 Days Yes
Inappropriate post or new topic 3 14 Days Yes
Location profile field misuse
(invalid valid city, state or country) 3 21 Days Yes
Email or PM abusive content 3 Never No
Insulted Other Member(s) 5 21 Days No
Inappropriate debate/discussion with
moderators (privately or in public) 7 28 Days No
Auction listing in forums 10 14 Days Yes
Debate about a receiving an warning
or infraction. 10 7 Days Yes
Auction listing in classifieds 10 14 Days Yes
Spammed advertisements 10 Never No

Q. saw similar posts without warnings/infractions".
Please use REPORT POST in the future so any moderator can see the problem post(s).

Q. I'm sorry and won't post like that again.
Thanks. Again the infractions EXPIRE so in a few weeks you won't even see the infraction

Q. What's with this infraction *@&!& Jemsite sucks now and is run by Nazi's
Thanks for your insensitivity. Kindly delete the bookmark and don't visit the site. If you send over your IP (www.myipaddress.com) i'll gladly IP ban you from the server as a service to other members.

Re: Warnings/Infractions (red/yellow cards)

I updated the original post... please re-read.

Alot of you guys PM politely or rudely about warnings/infractions so it's important everyone understand these EXPIRE AUTOMATICALLY after a few weeks. Only spamming or bannable offenses do not expire

The typical line i also get is "I saw similar posts without warnings/infractions". Chalk this up to the "others" being lucky and more importantly please use REPORT POST in the future so any moderator can see the problem post(s).

Thanks... glen

Good idea Glen, this'll make the whole bad-post system a bit easier to follow. Go figure it would come from football.

Re: Warnings/Infractions (red/yellow cards)

A little over the top for a forum. Sounds like a school system. When one can get suspended for a matter of opinion and discussion, which is what a forum is for, is when it becomes brittle, treading on egg shells. But, if these are the rules of Jemsite.

Re: Warnings/Infractions (red/yellow cards)

again... noone has ever been suspended for "opinion".. only violation of the rules which are basically unchanged over the years

if anything a warning/infraction (that expire with zero implications) should make all of think about posting responsibly and with respect to others... glen

Re: Warnings/Infractions (red/yellow cards)

I think that this is a good thing Glen.

I have noticed a tendency for some people to be a bit more acerbic in their posts over the last year or so. This is a pretty friendly community for one of it's size, it would be nice if it stayed that way, particularly as I am noticing a few younger people on here these days.

Keep it real for the kids guys.

Can you please provide more details about the point system? Like, What kind of infraction gets how many points?
