Re: have you named your guitar yet?
"The Rose"
Charvel strat copy, Japanese lawsuit headstock, '80s, so-called for the following reasons:
* red (duh!)
* rosewood fretboard (scalloped, markers sanded off,)
* Floyd Rose conversion

Re: have you named your guitar yet?
the Iceman is called Fatman (because of its weight)
the Jem still hasn't got a name (but Jem, for now)
the RG20th was called The Boss, because it reminded me of a stabilo boss marker (it was DY)
the Takamine is called Alice

Re: have you named your guitar yet?
Yes, I've named her Scotia.
It's Greek, and it means "dark one", due to the very dark blue finish.

I've never named mine, but my wife has a lot of names for it... most of which could make a sailor blush.

Re: have you named your guitar yet?
I've now named my guitars:
The Metalcaster (Black Tele with Bareknuckle 'buckers tuned C standard), The Partscaster (Strat which I bought cheap and heavily modded), The Acrylopaul (Acrylic bodied
Les Paul
copy which I also bought cheap and modded heavily).
S series still doesn't have a name.

Re: have you named your guitar yet?
I guess you can call them 'names'.
The "Red" one (1990 RG550CM)
The "Blue" one (1999 RG520QSTB)
The "Silver" one (2004 RG2570EXVSL)
If I get another one that's either red, blue, or silver I may have to rethink how I refer to them. ;-)

The main 570 PN is Bessie. My Jem 77VBK is Bertha. The 570PN twin is Bossy. My Jem 77BK yellow vine is Liza. The Iceman is Paul, of course. The 550 Space Invaders custom is Spacey. My Destroyer is Fins.

I have already come across this problem.
Mine are named after either the a) colour b) the wood if they are natural finish or c) the brand if they are a repetition of any of the guitars in the a or b category
As far as giving a guitar an actual name, no. They are functional items, and whilst I have some attachments to them as possessions I don't in my mind think of them as their own entities
Also, I have 14 at the moment. I wouldn't name them all if they were kids let alone guitars. My father was ex-navy and he would occasionally refer to each of us by our order of birth since he could never remember which name went with which child. I still use this in conversations with some of my brother's now.

Re: have you named your guitar yet?
Never have in over 25 years of playing. I call the guitar by name and or model. If I have multiple of the same brand I refer to the color.
