alot of the problems with the 555 side is that when you upgrade your guitar your going to think its the **** because its the best youve ever played. If you allready have a 7vh and play a 555 its gonna be unbarable.

so alot of these + 555 arguments are because the people have never played anything better.

Same goes for the 7VWH...my Vigier easily owns any Ibanez superstrat, but that doesn't mean those are bad guitars.

Said so already in a previous 555 vs. 7VWH: I always try out any Jem/UV I might encounter. I have had my hands on over 30 555's, and with the exception of 2 or 3, they were all crap. The stores I've checked usually had put (seemingly) the 555 guitar on display out of the box, because the settings would vary between 5mm actions on 12th fret to completely non-intonated setup guitars that were unplayable. I even checked out a few with warped necks (!!!). It givea a lot to think about the factory settings/QA for these guitars.

Ergo, you're almost ALWAYS better of with a 2nd hand real Jem then with a new 555. Don't waste you dough on a 555.

I am fortunate enough to have owned a 555 and now a 7V

I must be honest and say that soundwise, there is very very little in it, but the overall feel and quality of a Jem7V is apparent just upon holding one for a few seconds, and the there is an obvious difference in build quality.

Some people slate the 555, but to be honest, i loved my old 555, and it sounded great, although i have a 7V and would never part with it.ever.

if you have the money (and its alot) then get the 7V, otherwise there is absolutely no shame in having a 555, and despite what enyone might tell you, its still a jem

I know this is old and all but uhm...lol Vai pratically plays a 555 cept he uses a body routed for a edge, thats the only difference

theres more to a 7VWH than an edge, the 555's trem's do speak on there own, but I for one Hate the 555 neck's

Flo is NOT a 7v its a floral jem made of BASSWOOD the same material the 555 is made of and he has a 555 neck on it so basically, He playes a 555 with an edge and a choppy aanj cause it was a standard joint converted....so if you think about it a 555 with the edge on it would be BETTER in some ways to Vai's own primary guitar pre-sustainer

Flo is another favorite and was acquired at about the same time as Evo & Pogo. Flo is outfitted with Evolution pickups, and is used on tour as a backup guitar and as a warm-up guitar backstage or in hotels. Since this photo was taken, it has been equipped with a 555 neck. (Further changes have since been made; this guitar's page should be updated soon.)

Most people understandably think that Flo is a 7WH white Jem, but in fact it is a customized Floral Jem 777FP painted white (hence it’s name, Flo).
