legendaryguitars.net

Hello, and thank you for clicking on this thread.

I am a young Ibanez JEM and Steve Vai superfan, and I have always loved the Ibanez JEM777LNG (even since I was a kid!), but due to the rarity and obnoxious price tags attached to such instruments, they are an impossibility for me. However, I have found a website called "Legendary Guitars" which produces replicas of very famous guitars (JEM's, Les Pauls, Rhoads, etc) and I am interested to purchase.

I am asking if someone can tell me the quality of the instruments they produce, and whether they can be trusted to buy from?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated, and feel free to private message me also (My thread count isn't large enough to post images or links as I am a fairly new member to jemsite).

Many thanks!

Buy a 550 and refinish it plus add a handle and lion claw. Don't buy a fake

I'm not exactly handy with power tools or the abilities of a luthier. To be honest, I was hoping to get some feedback on the website about their reliability but I'll look into buying a 550. While we're on the subject of fakes, would it technically be a fake JEM, but not a fake Ibanez?

These are illegal counterfeits--STAY FAR AWAY.
They change their URL every other month to avoid getting caught. Used to be Rare Electric Guitars--just last week.

They are the same pieces of crap on Trade Tang and Alibaba.

Thank you, I really appreciate the heads-up! I think I'll build my own, to be honest - so I know exactly what's going in to it!

Good call on that!

I think Max Cottam does the mods, too.

I hope they're around next year, because on their website it says they're closing down (their section for swirls is anyway)! I'm based in the UK and finding a place to do this project with me isn't the easiest. I've head good things about Livewire Guitars in the US, but the shipping and customs cost for me would be pretty expensive.
