Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hey everyone...

So I am just getting back into guitar after about 20+ years of not. Was in a band back in the late 80's. Had a Yamaha RGX-612 in red. Rik Emmett was one of my guitar heroes. Well, still is.

So I had bought this crappy Starcaster and amp for $75 on Craigslist just to get back in, but it sucked really bad. As it should. So went to some pawn shops just the hell of it over the weekend and saw this wicked Ibanez S Series that looked mint and they had it listed @ $499. They said they would go down to $300. I didn't know much about it so I just left. Tried to find it online not knowing the model number. Thought it was a Prestige at first. Finally found it and it was the S470DXQM and retailed for 600-700 when it was new.

So went back to the pawn shop with my awesome Starcaster and amp in hand to trade it in. He said $80 for that and would do the guitar for $220, then he said $200. So I went to look at the amps then came back and I asked if he would do $190 with tax. He said sure. I was so stoked.

Brought the guitar to George's Music just to let them give it a once over to make sure it was all good. They loved it and had to pick their jaw off the floor after telling them the price. Only issues it had were, a screw was missing on one of the humbuckers. They fixed that. And the trem bar is missing and the tone and vol knobs are missing. But all those I can get online.
I also checked out some Vox and Line 6 amp there but didn't want to spend that money right now. Went on Craigslist to look for a line 6 Spider IV 15 and happened to see one another Pawn shop was selling for $60. Went there and it was mint and got it for $50.

So ya, this is a long winded intro, but I had to share with ppl in the know. Now just gotta get my skills up to par cause I do suck.
