Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hello Everyone, I have been looking over this site for the past few weeks and I have felt it was time to introduce myself! My name is Todd and I have been playing guitar for around 12 years.

My favorite type of music would be Classic Rock, Jazz, Classical, Metal, pretty much everything. Also, my favorite guitar players are Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Jimi Hendrix, Paul Gilbert, Rob Balducci, Dave Weiner, just to name a few.

I look forward to talking with all the members, and learning a thing or two.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Greetings from finland.
I've been playing guitar now about 10 years.
Last few years i've been using only 7-strings. Latest bought is carvin dc727.
I also own one prestige ibanez and one custom ordered 7-string telecaster with H/H pickups and 27" scale.
I use mainly mesa boogie amps and lots of stomp boxes.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Evenin' all.....[

I have bought an RG 1550 Prestige with a few dings and am going to get it swirled (GMC with a touch of white too) by rockinallovertheswirled, evolutioned up and scallopped at the top by my local luthier. Being a forty-something gigging rock guitarist there was a bit of a hole in my arsenal where an RG should go. I registered with Jemsite as I was looking for some swirl pictures and some tips on pickups etc. If anybody can throw in any tips at this ealry stage please do so otherwise I am quite happy to browse away and pick up what I can.

I play mostly my 1986 Kramer Baretta with a SD Jeff Beck/1987 Kramer Aerostar with MightyMite motherbucker and hotrails with a shed load of others waiting in the wings. No rock/metal guitarist is complete without an RG, I was no exception and had postponed it long enough.

Howdy. I'm a retired firefighter, starting to learn guitar now that I'm getting some sleep. Was going to be a guitar luthier in my retirement but the wife started learning violin, so I'm going that way more. You know the drill, they drive, you fix....... Hope to get some help with the Ibanez's I've picked up through the years.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hey, my name is Steve and I am in New Haven, CT. I am looking for a little advice on how to get the Zero Resistance trem to flutter on my Prestige. I just had a Tone Zone(Br), a fast track 1 and an Evolution neck put in and they really scream. The only thing missing is that insane flutter I get from my Schaller floyd copy. I am wondering whether I loosen the screw through the back plate or if I have to have the stopping mechanism removed. Thanks, Steve

Ive been on here for awhile but was disappointed that I couldn't post pics of my 540PII without making a few nonsense posts first. I am back to try to endure the painful wait.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Greetings,

I've been playing guitar (non professionally) for 20 years. My current favourites are my PRS Custom 24 (abused so heavily it's in dire need of a re-fretting), a modified Fender Highway One Tele (Stetsbar Trem, Seymour Duncan in the bridge), and an RG2228 which I absolutely love.

I have an early model Peavey 5150 half stack and a Traynor Classic 50 single 12" combo. At home I tend to record though a Line 6 POD X3 Live or a Roland VG-99 (I have Roland synth pick ups installed on a cool old Yamaha SBG). I run Logic Express though an '09 iMac. Drum wise I use some Toontrack products or the stock sounds of my Alesis SR-18 or Roland TD-3 V Drum kit.

I grew up influenced by Iommi, EVH, Vai, Satriani and some of the other 80's shredders. In the nineties I was heavily into thrash and death metal. Currently I am fascinated by '60's and '70's prog rock and fusion (King Crimson, Mahavishnu Orchestra, ELP, Zappa etc...).

I also gig with a country bad (hence the Tele). I don't enjoy listening to country much but it's a real challenge to try ad cop Paisley and Gill licks. It's also nice to see an audience dance and enjoy themselves rather than look for the nearest exit as was frequently the response in my death metal days.

I'm hoping to trade gear reviews, techniques, stories and maybe even trade tracks for review or collaboration with other guitar nerds such as myself.

Cheers,

RG2228 8 String

Hello - My name is Trevor and I live in Alaska. I used to play and
got out of it when a cold winter forced the sale of my Ibanez RG560. I have always missed it greatly and recently found this site when looking for another RG. I dont play pro or anything, just as a hobby. Looking at a 1570 now, very similar.......unless one of you has an 89rg560 in candy apple for sale ??
