Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

my name is alex and believe it or not i like ibanez guitars but hate heavy metal shredding ect and all the other sub genders of teen rock but i do like ibanez guitars i have a s420 it was my first guitar for 25 years and its great it stays in tune for ages which i love its so light its like a toy up to my next purchase which was a G&L S-500 but i wanted a more fender type trad sound ...im still learning this late in life after giving it up in about 1985 after being in a poor performing punk band and only learning Barr chords my next purchase im hoping will be a 2001 rg550 but im not too sure if it will be too similar to my s420 ?

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Typically I would not do the 'introduction' thing but as the board wont let people with less then 10 post, post picutres I am trying to burn as many stupid post as I can.

Years ago I worked for the guitar R&D department at Peavey. I have 20 or so prototype, one offs and Namm guitars from Peavey.

I also have a few PRS, Gibsons, Ibanez and others....

My main guitars are Jose Ramirez 1A (*have 2, a 72 Brazilian and 82 Indian), these are the money guitars.

I gave up 'shredding' years ago but still pull out this or that to keep the chops up....but always end up feeling like I should put spandex on afterwards.

As the name implies, I have a few world records. This is from driving too fast, another and more expensive hobby of mine.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi

I am JJ, a novice death metal guitarist from near Cincinnati, and I would have a band but the area sucks.
Right now I am looking for band members and tutorials on how to remove the paint from then swirl my RG421.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

hey,
Joined up for the info/talk about Universe guitars.
I own a '97 UV7SBK. I'm the original owner, bought it from
Bizarre Guitar in Sparks NV.
Not a particularly desirable Universe, but it's been a good guitar
for all these years.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi, my names is Justin and I have been playing guitar for over 20 years. My music interests are diverse, from classical thru to metal. I would consider myself a closet guitar enthusiast . I've played the music circuit in Frankfurt, Birmingham and Milton Keynes (such exotic locations!) but have now settled down with family and career but still have my rig and a dedicated music room. I own a Marshall stack, Digitech GSP2101 Studio Effects Processor, a range of pedals and play these through my Strat, Les Paul or PRS. Ibanez is missing from my collection but have been reading this site for over a year and am looking to join the Ibanez community!

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi everyone,

My name is Jose, I am from Madrid (Spain) but have been living in London (UK) for the past few years. I haven't owned an Ibanez in a while but have been thinking about getting one for a few months now. So, I am looking forward to discussing music and all sorts of gear, as well as getting up to speed with all things Ibanez.

Cheers

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hello everyone.

I'm an American currently living in Nagoya, Japan (home of Hoshino Gakki). I started playing guitar about a year ago (still a noob even though I'm 32) and I only play Ibanez. I bought a GRX40 Beam blue at first, but got tired of the pups so I bought an RG350EXZ (got tired of the INF pups so put Evo pups in it) and then bought an RG1550M PBL (its an overseas model, not meant for sale in Japan, got it as outlet merchandise) because I liked the V7-S1-V8 pups.

I frequent the local guitar shops but you'd be surprised how few Ibanez guitars there are just sitting in the guitar shops here. The only one I tend to see a large number of Ibanez guitars at is Shimamura (a national instrument chain) and Shimamura even gets Shimamura-only Ibanez models every year. They are typically priced in between standard RGs and Premiums but have better pups than standard RGs (this year's models have Duncan pups).

I'm here to talk about Ibby stuff because you cant find that many people here who like or use Ibby guitars.
