Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Even though I've been playing guitar for almost 40 years there is always something new to learn. I just discovered this site recently and it is a great source for Ibanez info. Over the years I've owned a lot of different guitars but somehow I never picked up an Ibanez. Now I'm on the hunt for one. Yeah, I'm an old b*****d but I still play metal type stuff so one of these (RG570?) looks like probably a pretty good idea. See ya... Barry

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi there. I'm know as "Nevla", and play guitar for a UK Goth Rock band called "Rome Burns".
I've been playing for nearly 10 years, and recently have fell in love with Ibanez guitars.
My current gear list:

Marshall GR80cd
Line6 PODxt
Ibanez RG2550
Ibanez RGTHRG1 (currently back at the dealers due to flawed fretboard)
ESP MH-301
BC Rich NJ Mockingbird
Jackson Warrior XT
Hohner GT3
Yamaha Bass

Next purchase may well be a JS series, but i've yet to decide.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hello,
My name is Todd and i'm a guitar player. I've been playing since I was about 14 and i'm now 33. I took group lessons and then private lessons for my first 1 and a half to 2 years. But I feel like i'm self taught, and it shows.
When I originally signed up on this site, I was looking into buying a jem555, hence the screen name. Some will say it's not a jem and some will. Anyway, i don't have it anymore. Ever since then, i've been looking for a 550 or similar series model with and Edge trem. I now have one, a 560. The other equipment I have include...

2002ish Jackson SLSMG with Emg81/85
1984 Gibson Explorer artist original series
LTD MH-301
Fender MIM Strat
Jackson Y2KV - cheap version
Early 90's Jackson RR V (black) with a maple Hamer neck. Ugly but beautiful.

I play them into an audio technica rackmount wireless into a Boss GT-6. I then run that into either a Traynor YCV40, Ampeg VH-140C with 2-ADA 2x12's or a Tech21 Trademark 10 for practice. I also have 4 or 5 stomp boxes collecting dust at the moment.

Hey to all. My name is Robin Dover and I have played off and on since I was 12 years old. I'm 48 now and still have yet to reach my goals. I am just getting started again and have always loved the shredders... Vai, Satch, Malmsteen. I an a Van Halen fan as well as Ted Nugent. Currently, I find myself listening to alot of Buckethead, Andy Timmons, Darren Hurst, Michael Angelo Batio and Joe Stump. Of course... Vai and Satch always mesmerize me with their sheer level of creativity and ability to reach out. Happy New Year to all and if you know of any authentic shredders in the Ft. Lauderdale area, please let me know. All the best. Keep it tuned...

Hi, my name is Sean. I've been playing for 15 years off & on (more off then on). I came across this forum doing a Google search on Floyd Rose trems & have found quite a wealth of information here. In the process I have purchased a newer Ibanez guitar & have more than a few questions about about upgrades & such. I'm looking forward to learning what I can from all of you.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hello, my name is Toni, I have 17 years old and I'm from Portugal.

Been playing in Ibanez since my first guitar, the Ibanez SZ320 (I play since July 2004). Now I have my new guitar on the way, it's the terrific Ibanez RG2077XL. It arrived yesterday, but no one on the store was able to tune it (the traditional tuning problem on the 2077) and today it goes directly to the importer to tune it right. I think I bought a good guitar but time will confirm it. =)

My actual equipment is:

Guitars
-Ibanez SZ320 (black)
-Ibanez RG2077XL (RB, on the way)

Amplifiers:
-Ibanez TB15D (15 watt amp)
-Hughes & Kettner Attax Series Tour Reverb (100 watt amp. Fantastic!)

I play death metal (my style. The main reason I bought the RG2077XL. I want perfect B tunning) but I listen to every type of metal and hard rock. My favourite bands are Cannibal Corpse, Death, Morbid Angel, Metallica, Vader, Immortal and Exodus.

My favourite guitars players are:

-Chuck Schuldiner (Death, R.I.P.)
-Abbath (Immortal)
-Gary Holt (Exodus)
-Pat O'Brien (Cannibal Corpse)
-Trey Azagthoth (Morbid Angel)

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

My name is Tim, and I just purchased a 2005 JEM 7VWH. I received it yeterday and so far I think its a beautiful guitar. I was lusting after one for quite awhile...or maybe since purchasing the G3 Live in Denver DVD. Go figure.

My other main guitars are: EB/MM Axis, Peavey Wolfgang Std, PRS Singlecut Trem, Gibson Les Paul Studio, Fender USA Strat, Yamaha RGX-TT, USA Jackson Soloist. I play through Bogner (Ecstasy 101A, Uberschall), Mesa (Triple Rectifier), Engl (Powerball) and Peavey (JSX) amps and Mesa Rectifier Cabinets. I use TC Electronics and Rocktron rack units.

I play in an original hard rock band out of Cleveland, Ohio named Mourningstar, and my favorite bands are King's X, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam as well as a lot classic older metal. My favorite guitarists are Ty Tabor, Steve Vai, Satch and EVH.
