Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
Hey there, my name is Erling. Been
playing guitar
for about 12 years, and I bought my Jem 77 bfp second hand in '99. I've known off this site, and stopped by every now and then for several years, so eventually I thought that the time was right for me to sign up! I'm very interested in hearing from people with the same guitar as me, and also to hear from anyone that knows some facts and info about it!
Erling, from Norway

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
Hello, I am Jay Martin (j4vice)
I always wanted a JEM. I won an auction on **** for a WHITE JEM with GOLD parts. But I got it for like $18.00 (GBP 3.99 )??? I know, if it's too good to be true, then it is/isn't. The catch is, it costs $220.00 to ship from CHINA. They do take PAY PAL among a bunch of other crazy payment methods. I was almost ripped-off on **** a month ago for $808.00. My question is to any JEM FORUM readers, "Should I do this?" I mean it sounds ridiculous. Also, the seller has three other JEMs available, all for a starting bid of $19.00 U.S. I have a PAY PAL account for no more than this 'transaction' so the most I can get ripped for is about $280.000 U.S. Here is this person's **** page, 5000+ items including alot of classic guitars. Sort the items from highest price and you will see at least three JEMs including a ROOT-BEER, a BLACK wtih PINK pick-ups, and a couple more. And the highest price one is $27.99. What's wrong with this picture?
I am NOT advertising or promoting this, I am questioning this **** site.....

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
wondering if there is any difference in a jem555 that has "made in japan" on the back of the head. everything else i have read on the internet claims these were made in korea or tiawan of some other asian country. is this guitar any different than the others or were they all made somewhere else but wear the decal "made in japan" on them?

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
Howdy everybody. You might recognize my name from HC as where that's where I've been spending my time. I'm also on gear page and drifting out of birds and moons. I've been using Ibanez since 9' when I had to get a 7 string to help out this band that needed a guitar player. I've still got that beat up RG. It's been a real workhorse since day one. I got suckered into the world of ultra high end custom handmade better have one or you're not gonna hang with us guitars and basically got extremely hosed by the worst of the worst. I came back to Ibanez after seeing my hero live at a guitar clinic tour he was doing. We talked and told me that 'playing what YOU like is cool no matter what'. So I can thank
Paul Gilbert
for my return to Ibanez. Something I didn't realize before is that they have a guitar for almost, if not, every kind of player. So if I don't feel like my RG or soon to be PGM then I can pick up an ar300. That's the kind of quality and consistency I was looking for all along. Anyway, I know it ran long but that's my story and here I am. Thanks for having me and hey.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
Hi Folks.
Been reading the stuff on here for a while now. I discovered the site after falling in love with a pic of a JEM 7V WH. I've been reading all the comments about the 7V's and decided i had to have one. I only joined JEMSITE a couple of days ago and this is my first post and i'm glad to say that as of today i'm the proud father of a JEM7VWH................well kinda of........i ordered it today, it should be with me next week. I can hardly wait. It's better than Xmas
Expect to here from me again soon, as undoubtedly I'll be seeking your advice on set-up etc.
Neil

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
Hello,
My name is Mark. I am from New Jersey bit now live in Virginia Beach VA. I owned a
IBANEZ roadstar
, 550 , jem BSB, RG 7 string & a Universe. Besides many others like Paul Reed Smith and
Fender Telecaster
. I have been playing since I was 15 years old and now I am 33. I love ALOT of music. I have a huge cd, vinyl and tape collection.
It's awesome to be here with other Jem and Ibanez fans!
** I do however want to spread the word about an artist here in Virginia that I know really well and is looking to expand her art to guitars. If you know anyone with a desire to have art on their guitar or if you need to see pictures of what she already done please email her at
MARTHACJONES@COX.NET
. She is a awesome artist. She has worked on guitars before. She also does Gas tanks for motorcycles around the world. Everything she does is professional.
Thanks again!
Mark

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
Hi all.Only joined a few hours ago!2 weeks ago i FINALLY became a jem owner after years of wanting 1.Got a second hand 7vwh in mint condition for a good price (i think!!).She played perfectly for 6 days then suddenly the trem wont return to pitch,so i guess i'll be in the tech section for a bit!!Apart from that she's everything i've dreamed of,stunningly beautiful instrument in every way.Never worked on guitars so a bit nervous of doing anything serious.Brief details about me;favourite guitarist has to be satch.Like my music heavy, but back into satch and vai bigtime,(longtime fan though). My other babies are a kramer stagemaster deluxe(archtop),gibson explorer and got a bottom of the range rg when i was living in a bedsit and didnt want to leave the good stuff there!!She was my 1st ibanez though,so that was cool. Now off to check round the site!
