Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Here I am introducing myself to perfect strangers! I have played guitar since 1967 when I was in 7th grade. I actually wanted to play especially after my earlier experience with a possesed accordian. Like many I wasted (was) ten years of my life trying to become a *rockstar* and finally got a call to go play covers for actual $ that was in 1981. I've played through Ampeg VT-40's since '74 and still have a dead one in the closet somewhere. Used it with a Tom Scholz Power Soak and a prototype Ibanez Tube Screamer that I bought for $25. (sold the screamer for $325. thanks Mr. Vaughn...Stevie not Kenny) I liked to turn up the mid range on that thing what a honk! Now using a Mesa Nomad 45 and a Line 6 112 spyder (a lot easier to haul around for jams and stuff) When I play C&W gigs I use my Acoustic 234 it seems to have unlimitless bass + treble all very clean. I run a weekend warrior band called Flip City'Live (not the jazz trio in Indiana) we play resorts and have fun yippie! Had dozens of guitars down to 5 now. Rock on!

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

I am trying to find someone in the Barrie ontario area aka Toronto ontario area to properly set up my jem. I have take the guitar to music shops before and all they do is take further away from what I want.. Example
I want this jem to play like butter easy to play low action with not big buzzing issues or intonation problems..Store I have tried
The Arts -Newmarket
Long & McCowad's -Toronto
12 Fret -Toronto
Music Pro -Barrie..
Can anyone help by pointing me in the right direction so I can get this axe up and running the way I want..I keep getting the thing back set up with different string gauges or the tech messed around with the bridge and raises it. etc.

Hey - Jeff from Canada here.

Why is my username "slowsmart" you ask.....

Well that's my wife's nickname for me. She says I can figure out anything .... it just takes me a while. Hmmmmm - still trying to figure out if she was complimenting or insulting me.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi,

My name is Steve, i'm 21 from London, ENGLAND.

I am a neoclassical freak & like artists such as- Joe Stump, Vinnie Moore, Chris Impellitteri, Yngwie Malmsteen, Tony MacAlpine, David Chastain, George Bellas, Matthew Mills, Rusty Cooley, Shane Gibson, Theodore Ziras as well as 80's-90's shredders like Paul Gilbert, Marty Friedman, Jason Becker, Richie Kotzen, Greg Howe, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Buckethead, Shawn Lane RIP & loads more.

My musical tastes are- Thrash Metal, Neoclassical, Shred, Baroque Period, Classical Period, Renaissance Period, Romantic Period, Death Metal, Jazz, Fusion, Blues, Latin.

I have been playing guitar since September 2005 & practise 10 Hours per day. I used to do 14 Hours per day for the first 5 months but brought it down for various reasons.

My gear is: Ibanez RG1550 Prestige w/Seymour Duncan Pickups & Ernie Ball Strings, Maverick JR4 with EMG Pickups & D'Addario Strings, Marshall MG30dfx, Monster Cable, Jim Dunlop Picks.

I love sports- Football (Arsenal), Cricket, Rugby Union (Harlequins), Rugby League (Harlequins), Baseball (New York Yankees), American Football (New York Giants), Ice Hockey (New York Rangers).

The Rivera part of my name is from Mariano Rivera, the 213 is the Slayer song about Charles Manson's cell (i think).

It might change it to 212 though cos thats the area code of New York & i have relatives in the Bronx.

Thats it.

Peace.
