Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi I just wanted to introduce myself as a new member. I am a guitar builder specialising in Carbon fibre acoustic guitars but I also build a small number of very exotic electric guitars. The people on this forum might know my work from the Ultra zone guitar I built for Steve Vai.
Check out my latest crazy creation "The Alien".

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Greets everyone! My name is Joe, and I've been playing off and on for about 13 years now, mostly off unfortunately - otherwise I might actually be a decent player!

I listen to just about anything, except rap and country. Just not my thing.

I couldn't really say what my playing style is, I just pick up the guitar (or bass) and play whatever comes to mind, or at least try to.

I currently own two Ibanezes, an Artcore AS183 (not 100% on the model #), and the MMM01 Mike Mushok signature model. For the money, I don't think you can beat the Artcore - it's a sweet axe! And the MMM01 definitely rocks, but it lends itself to a style I don't play as often as I used to. As for Jems, I only just played one for the first time this past weekend. I wish I hadn't, because now I have to have one, and don't have a couple grand to drop!

Joe

Thumbs up

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi, a new member here. Im Narmo from Finland. Great forum.
Im in my thirties now. Im a 'reborn' guitarist.. I've started to play again after almost 10yrs break.. i got my inspiration back. And finished school, got some life and got a job.

And i got me a good guitar! A '89 RG560 which got me really a lot more deeply interested in guitars and music and everything related. Funny how all i needed now was a inspiring instrument.

I've also learnt something useful in the process.. follow your inspiration.. this has put me in much better place - on the fretboard of a nice guitar among other things Ok, following your inspiration takes some money too, so im working days and enjoying the music in the evening when im not too beat up.
Currently im listening to Randy Rhoads and Chuck Schuldiner. I also like NomeansNo and Chris Haskett's style on Rollins Band. I like lots of different music. I study a bit music during the weeks.. some notation, some listening, a bit C-Major on fretboard and some scales. Basic stuff i guess but better late than never, eh? Its fun now, but when i was 15 and doing the same, it bored me delirious.

Currently im looking into a deal of a '89 540S, which is a bit beaten up but nice player. Im testdriving it since the weekend and tbh i got a serious crush on it..
Im hoping to find a good guitar teacher in the autumn.

BR,
Narmo
